A. Safety Precautions
(1) In the cockpit, on panel 25VU:

Make sure that the STROBE switch is in the OFF position.
Make sure that the NAV & LOGO switch is in the OFF position.
Make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is in the OFF position.
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the navigation lights or the strobe lights.
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the APU.

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in the APU tail-cone-exhaust area.
(2) Remove the APU exhaust access-fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-18-000-001) or, as an alternative, the tail navigation light (Ref. AMM TASK 33-41-15-000-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 33-41-16-020-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Tail Navigation-Light Transformer
(1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) and (4).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the screws (7) and the washers (6).
(4) Remove the screw (2) and the washer (3).
(5) Remove the transformer plate (5) with the transformer from the APU exhaust access-fairing.
