Removal of the Ballast Unit and the Lampholder
WARNING:
ISOLATE THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS FROM THE RELATED EQUIPMENT AND THE ENVIRONMENT.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS.
THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN WILL QUICKLY CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE LAMP.
IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS, CLEAN IT WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH.
NOTE: The procedure is the same for all the fluorescent lighting in the fwd and aft cargo compartment.

(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:

at FWD cargo-compartment door 825,

at AFT cargo-compartment door 826.
(2) Open the related cargo-compartment door and install the actuator safety-locks (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Remove the ceiling panel in the FWD cargo-compartment to get access to the electrical connector (5):

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) FOR [13LU] (C/C LIGHT), [14LU] (C/C LIGHT), [20LU] (C/C LIGHT), [21LU] (C/C LIGHT)
at FWD cargo-compartment door 825,
(b) FOR [15LU] (C/C LIGHT), [16LU] (C/C LIGHT), [17LU] (C/C LIGHT), [22LU] (C/C LIGHT)
at AFT cargo-compartment door 826.
(2) Open the related cargo-compartment door and install the actuator safety-locks (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) FOR [13LU] (C/C LIGHT), [14LU] (C/C LIGHT), [20LU] (C/C LIGHT), [21LU] (C/C LIGHT)
at FWD cargo-compartment door 825,
(b) FOR [15LU] (C/C LIGHT), [16LU] (C/C LIGHT), [17LU] (C/C LIGHT), [22LU] (C/C LIGHT)
at AFT cargo-compartment door 826.
(2) Open the related cargo-compartment door and install the actuator safety-locks (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
Subtask 33-34-11-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Ballast Unit and the Lampholder
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector (5).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Release the quick-release fasteners (1).
(4) Remove the glass cover (2) from the lamp housing (10).
(5) Push the buttons (4) at each end of the lampholder (6) and remove the fluorescent lamp (3).
(6) Remove the screws (11), the washers (12) and the nuts (13).
(7) Remove the cover plate (8) and the gasket (9) from the lamp housing (10).
(8) Remove the screws (14).
(9) Remove the ballast unit and lampholder (6) and the reflector (7) from the lamp housing (10).
Subtask 33-34-11-020-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (5).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Release the quick-release fasteners (1).
(4) Remove the glass cover (2) from the lamp housing (10).
(5) Push the buttons (4) at each end of the lampholder (6) and remove the fluorescent lamp (3).
(6) Remove the screws (11), the washers (12) and the nuts (13).
(7) Remove the cover plate (8) and the gasket (9) from the lamp housing (10).
(8) Remove the screws (14).
(9) Remove the ballast unit and lampholder (6) and the reflector (7) from the lamp housing (10).
A. Removal of the Ballast Unit and the Lampholder
Ballast Unit with Lampholder ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Ballast Unit with Lampholder ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Release the quick-release studs (1) and remove the glass cover (2).
(2) Push the buttons (4) at each end of the ballast unit with lampholder (5) and remove the fluorescent lamp (3).
(3) Release the quick-release studs (6) and carefully lower the ballast unit with lampholder (5) until you get access to the connector (8).
(5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Remove the ballast unit with lampholder (5).
Ballast Unit with Lampholder ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Ballast Unit with Lampholder ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) Push the buttons (4) at each end of the ballast unit with lampholder (5) and remove the fluorescent lamp (3).
(3) Release the quick-release studs (6) and carefully lower the ballast unit with lampholder (5) until you get access to the connector (8).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(4) Disconnect the electrical connector (8) from the socket (7). (5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Remove the ballast unit with lampholder (5).
