CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS. THE OILS FROM YOUR SKIN WILL QUICKLY CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE LAMP. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH THE LAMP GLASS, CLEAN IT WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH.

4. Procedure

A. Preparation for the installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2) Make an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

B. Installation of the Supplementary Reading Light (29LE)

(1) If the new supplementary reading light (6) already has the circlips (1), make sure that you remove it before you install the supplementary reading light (6).
(2) Install the supplementary reading light (6) on the reading-light panel 54VU (3).
(3) Install the circlips (1) on the supplementary reading light (6).

CAUTION: REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(4) Connect the female electrical connectors (5) to the male electrical connectors (4).
(5) Tighten the four quick-disconnect fasteners (2) on the reading light panel 54VU (3).

C. Installation of the Reading Light Single-Control-Box (51LE)

Reading-light single control-box ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) If the new single control box (13) already has the washer (12) and nut (11), make sure that you remove them before you put the single control box (13) in position.
(3) Install the single control box (13) through the hole of the reading light panel 54VU (3).
(4) Install the washer (12) and tighten the nut (11).
(5) Put the integrally lighted plate (7) in position on the reading light panel 54VU (3) and hold it in this position.
(6) Attach the integrally lighted plate (7) with the four screws (10).
(7) Install the knob (8). Be careful not to cause damage to the flat of the axle of the single control box (13).
(8) Tighten the two screws (9).
(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(10) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(11) Install the connector (14) and attach it with the two screws (15) at the rear of the single control box (13).
(12) Install the reading light panel 54VU (3) with the four quick-disconnect fasteners (2).

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Do the operational test of the general illumination (Ref. AMM TASK 33-12-00-710-001).
