Installation of the Nose Wheel Steering Servo-Valve
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

Subtask 32-51-51-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001)
(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(4) On the steering handwheels (CAPT and F/O) and on the brake pedals, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate them.
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
(7) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the servo-control.
Subtask 32-51-51-860-055-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.

(7) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the servo-control.

(1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.

(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(4) On the steering handwheels (CAPT and F/O) and on the brake pedals, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate them.

Subtask 32-51-51-110-051-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Clean the attachment hardware with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry with filtered compressed air.
(3) Apply a light coat of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all the screws.
Subtask 32-51-51-420-053-B (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Clean the attachment hardware with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and dry with filtered compressed air.
(3) Apply a light coat of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all the screws.
B. Installation of the Servo-Valve
(1) Remove blanking caps from the electrical connectors (7).
(2) Make sure that the electrical connectors (7) are in correct condition.
(a) On the Nose Wheel Steering (NW/S) (6GC) (11), make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and dry.
(3) Install the new AIPC 32-51-51-05-040 PACKINGS (6) and the new AIPC 32-51-51-05-051 PACKING (12) on the servo-valve (2).
(4) Put the servo-valve (2) in position with the screws (1).
(5) Push the servo-valve (2) to connect the electrical connectors (7).
(6) TORQUE the screws (1) to between 5 and 4 m.N (44.25 and 35.40 lbf.in )

(8) Make sure that the heat shrink sleeve (9) is not damaged.
(a) If the heat shrink sleeve (9) is damaged, do the steps that follow:
1 Remove and discard the heat shrink sleeve (9) and the identification band (10).
2 Install the new AIPC 32-21-43-42-010 HEAT SHRINK SLEEVE (9) or AIPC 32-21-43-03-140 HEAT SHRINK SLEEVE (9).
3 Connect the electrical connector (8) to the NW/S servo control (6GC) (11).
4 Apply heat to shrink the top part of the heat shrink sleeve (9). Make sure that you do not cause damage to the cover of the 6GCA connector.
5 Install the new AIPC 32-21-43-42-040 IDENTIFICATION BAND (10).
(b) If the heat shrink sleeve (9) is not damaged:
1 Connect the electrical connector (8) to the NW/S servo control (6GC).
2 Fold the end of the heat shrink sleeve (9) back on the connector (8) to fully protect it.
(9) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on:
Subtask 32-51-51-865-055-A (1) Remove blanking caps from the electrical connectors (7).
(2) Make sure that the electrical connectors (7) are in correct condition.
(a) On the Nose Wheel Steering (NW/S) (6GC) (11), make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and dry.
(3) Install the new AIPC 32-51-51-05-040 PACKINGS (6) and the new AIPC 32-51-51-05-051 PACKING (12) on the servo-valve (2).
(4) Put the servo-valve (2) in position with the screws (1).
(5) Push the servo-valve (2) to connect the electrical connectors (7).
(6) TORQUE the screws (1) to between 5 and 4 m.N (44.25 and 35.40 lbf.in )
. WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(7) Safety the screws (1) with (8) Make sure that the heat shrink sleeve (9) is not damaged.
(a) If the heat shrink sleeve (9) is damaged, do the steps that follow:
1 Remove and discard the heat shrink sleeve (9) and the identification band (10).
2 Install the new AIPC 32-21-43-42-010 HEAT SHRINK SLEEVE (9) or AIPC 32-21-43-03-140 HEAT SHRINK SLEEVE (9).
3 Connect the electrical connector (8) to the NW/S servo control (6GC) (11).
4 Apply heat to shrink the top part of the heat shrink sleeve (9). Make sure that you do not cause damage to the cover of the 6GCA connector.
5 Install the new AIPC 32-21-43-42-040 IDENTIFICATION BAND (10).
(b) If the heat shrink sleeve (9) is not damaged:
1 Connect the electrical connector (8) to the NW/S servo control (6GC).
2 Fold the end of the heat shrink sleeve (9) back on the connector (8) to fully protect it.
(9) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) on:
- The heads of the screws (1).
- The joint-line between the servo-valve (2) and the NW/S servo control (6GC) (11).
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Functional Test
(1) Do the functional test of the nose wheel steering. (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003) or (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-004).

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Remove the container.
(2) Remove the safety barriers.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
