A. Removal of the Servo-Valve
(1) Use a SPATULA - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
(3) Connect a hose to the valve (4).
(4) Slowly loosen the nut (3) to open the valve (4) and drain the hydraulic fluid.
(5) When no more fluid flows out, remove the hose and tighten the nut (3) to close the valve (4).
(6) Lift the sleeve (9)
(7) Disconnect the electrical connector (8).
(8) Put the CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector (8).
(10) Remove the screws (1).
(11) Remove the servo-valve (2).
(12) Remove and discard the packings (6) and (12).
(13) Clean and dry the electrical connectors of the servo-valve (2).
(1) Use a SPATULA - NON METALLIC to remove the sealant from:
- The heads of the screws (1)
- The joint-line between the servo-valve (2) and the Nose Wheel Steering (NW/S) servo-control (6GC) (11).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(9) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the screws (1). (10) Remove the screws (1).
(11) Remove the servo-valve (2).
(12) Remove and discard the packings (6) and (12).
(13) Clean and dry the electrical connectors of the servo-valve (2).
NOTE: When you remove the servo-valve (2) from the NW/S servo control (6GC) (11):
(14) Put the CAP - BLANKING on the electrical connectors (7). - The hydraulic fluid in the body of the NW/S servo control (6GC) (11) will flow out and can get on the electrical connectors of the servo-valve (2).
