Installation of the Selector Valve

3. Job Set-up

A. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the right MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (3) Make sure that the PTU isolation coupling is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (4) Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • On the panel 40VU in the cockpit
  • On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (5) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (6) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the selector valve (2).

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-51-23-560-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation of the Replacement Selector Valve
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Prepare the bobbins (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001) as follows:
     (a) Install the new AIPC 32-51-23-01-070 BACK-UP RINGS (6) and the new AIPC 32-51-23-01-090 BACK-UP RINGS (8) on the bobbins (7).
     (b) Install the new
AIPC 32-51-23-01-060 O-RINGS (5) and the new AIPC 32-51-23-01-080 O-RINGS (9) on the bobbins (7).
   (5) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.
06LDG2) to the threads of the bolts (3).
   (6) Remove the blanking plugs from the ports of the new selector valve (2) and the manifold (10).
Subtask 32-51-23-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Selector Valve
   (1) Install the bobbins (7) in the manifold (10) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
   (2) Apply a layer of Lubricant-Anti Seize MoS2 and Petrolatum - (Material No.03PBC1) to the mating surfaces of the selector valve (2) and the manifold (10).
   (3) Put the selector valve (2) in position and install the washers (4) and the bolts (3).
   (4) Put the bonding strap (11) in position and install the washer (12) and the bolt (13) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (5) TORQUE the bolts (3) and (13) to to between 0.7 and 0.6 m.daN (61.95 and 53.10 lbf.in ) T.
   (6) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (7) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (8) Connect the electrical connector (1) to the selector valve (2).

C. Preparation for Test
   (1) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (
Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
   (2) If necessary, fill the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Test
   (1) Do the functional test of the nose wheel steering (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003).
   (2) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the selector valve (2) and/or the manifold (10).
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
5. Close-up
Subtask 32-51-23-410-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the container.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Close the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
