Installation of the Selector Valve and Manifold-Assembly

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-51-23-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the RH MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position.
   (4) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (5) Make sure that the PTU isolation coupling is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (6) Make sure a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • On the panel 40VU in the cockpit
  • On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (7) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (8) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the selector valve manifold-assembly.

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-51-23-560-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (5) Remove the blanking plugs from the hydraulic pipe connectors (4), (6) and (8) of the selector valve manifold-assembly (10).
   (6) Lubricate the threads of the hydraulic connectors as follows:
     (a) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
     (b) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the hydraulic pipe connectors (3), (5) and (9).
     (c) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the hydraulic connectors (4), (6) and (8) of the selector valve manifold-assembly (10).
   (7) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the threads of the bolts (1).
   (8) Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) to the interface area of the selector valve manifold-assembly (10) and the structure (7).
Subtask 32-51-23-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Selector Valve Manifold-Assembly
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Put the selector valve manifold-assembly (10) in its installation position.
   (3) Install the washers (2) and the bolts (1).
   (4) Install the bonding lead (14), the washer (15), the bolt (16) and the nut (12) to the structure (13) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (5) Make sure that the connectors of the hydraulic pipes (3), (5) and (9) are clean and in the correct condition.
   (6) Connect the hydraulic pipes (3), (5) and (9) to the selector valve manifold-assembly (10).
   (7) TORQUE the connector of the hydraulic pipe (3) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft ) T.
   (8) TORQUE the connectors of the hydraulic pipes (5) and (9) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
T.
   (9) Paint a red line across the connectors of the hydraulic pipes (3), (5) and (9) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (10) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (11) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (12) Connect the electrical connector (11) to the selector valve manifold-assembly (10).

C. Preparation for Test
   (1) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
   (2) If necessary, fill the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. Test
   (1) Do the functional test of the nose wheel steering (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-720-003).
   (2) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the selector valve manifold-assembly (10).
NOTE: Leaks are not permitted.
5. Close-up
Subtask 32-51-23-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Apply Varnish Polyurethane-Low VOC - External Structure (Material No.04SBA3) to the interface area of the selector valve manifold-assembly (10) and the structure (7).
   (2) Remove the container.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (6) Close the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (7) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
