Installation of the Parking Brake Valve

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the PTU isolation coupling is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
Subtask 32-45-14-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the PTU isolation coupling is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

C. Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:

- on the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
D. Preparation of the Replacement Component
Subtask 32-45-14-560-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the: - threads of the union (4)
- threads of the parking brake valve (2)
- new AIPC 32-45-03-03-230 PACKING (3).
E. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

Subtask 32-45-14-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Parking Brake Valve 2579GM
(1) Apply the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the component interface.
(2) Put the parking brake valve (2) in position and install the washers (7) and the bolts (8).
(3) Remove the blanking plugs.
(4) Put the new packing (3) on the union (4) and install the union (4) in the parking brake valve (2).
(5) TORQUE the union (4) to between 3.47 and 3.19 m.daN (25.59 and 23.53 lbf.ft )
.
(6) Connect the connector (5) to the union (4) and the connectors (1) and (6) to the parking brake valve (2).
(7) Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the applicable unions and TORQUE the connectors (5) and (6) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-917-001).
(8) Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the applicable union and TORQUE the connector (1) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-917-001).
(9) Put a mark on the connectors with the Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative Furnishing (Material No.04JMD9) .
Subtask 32-45-14-865-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Apply the Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the component interface.
(2) Put the parking brake valve (2) in position and install the washers (7) and the bolts (8).

(5) TORQUE the union (4) to between 3.47 and 3.19 m.daN (25.59 and 23.53 lbf.ft )

(7) Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the applicable unions and TORQUE the connectors (5) and (6) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-917-001). (8) Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the applicable union and TORQUE the connector (1) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-11-917-001). (9) Put a mark on the connectors with the Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative Furnishing (Material No.04JMD9) .
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Preparation for Installation
(1) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Bleed the alternate brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-870-002).

(2) Bleed the alternate brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-870-002).
D. Test
(1) Do the operational check of the parking brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-45-00-710-001).
(2) Do the operational check of the alternate braking with anti skid (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001).
(3) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the parking brake valve 2579GM. Leaks are not permitted.
5. Close-up(1) Do the operational check of the parking brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-45-00-710-001).
(2) Do the operational check of the alternate braking with anti skid (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001).
(3) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the parking brake valve 2579GM. Leaks are not permitted.
Subtask 32-45-14-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Apply corrosion protection to the bolt heads, connectors and the adjacent areas (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
(2) Remove the container.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) Close the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(7) If necessary fill the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(8) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Apply corrosion protection to the bolt heads, connectors and the adjacent areas (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
(2) Remove the container.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) Close the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(7) If necessary fill the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(8) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
