Installation of the Alternate-Brake Direct Drive Valve
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

Subtask 32-43-35-941-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
Subtask 32-43-35-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
- make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable false rear spar at zone 571(671).
(2) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(3) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(4) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
Subtask 32-43-35-865-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable false rear spar at zone 571(671).

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Lubricate the new AIPC 32-43-27-02-040 SEALS (4) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
Subtask 32-43-35-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

(4) Lubricate the new AIPC 32-43-27-02-040 SEALS (4) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
B. Installation of the Alternate-Brake Direct Drive Valve
(1) Install the back-up rings (5) and the seals (4) on the direct drive valve (3).
(2) Remove the cover from the alternate-brake manifold.
(3) Align the dowel with its locating-hole on the manifold and install the direct drive valve (3).
(4) Apply a thin layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the screws (2).
(5) Install the screws (2) and TORQUE tighten to between 0.4 and 0.3 m.daN (35.40 and 26.55 lbf.in )
.
(6) Remove the blanking caps and connect the electrical connector (1).
Subtask 32-43-35-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the back-up rings (5) and the seals (4) on the direct drive valve (3).
(2) Remove the cover from the alternate-brake manifold.
(3) Align the dowel with its locating-hole on the manifold and install the direct drive valve (3).
(4) Apply a thin layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the screws (2).
(5) Install the screws (2) and TORQUE tighten to between 0.4 and 0.3 m.daN (35.40 and 26.55 lbf.in )
. (6) Remove the blanking caps and connect the electrical connector (1).
C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Aircraft Configuration
(1) Connect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
(2) Pressurize the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).

E. Bleed the System
(1) Bleed the alternate brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-870-002).
(2) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to remove unwanted hydraulic fluid.
Subtask 32-43-35-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Bleed the alternate brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-870-002).
(2) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to remove unwanted hydraulic fluid.
F. Test
(1) Do an operational test of the alternate braking system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001).
(2) Make sure that there are no hydraulic leaks at the interface of the alternate-brake manifold and the direct drive valve.
5. Close-up(1) Do an operational test of the alternate braking system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001).

A. Removal of Equipment
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
