Removal of the Alternate-Brake Manifold
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:

(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Operate the brake pedals until the pressure in the brake accumulator of the Yellow hydraulic system is at zero.
(3) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
Subtask 32-43-32-865-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Operate the brake pedals until the pressure in the brake accumulator of the Yellow hydraulic system is at zero.
(3) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable false rear spar, at zone 571(671).
(2) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the applicable alternate-brake manifold (6).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable false rear spar, at zone 571(671).
(2) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the applicable alternate-brake manifold (6).

A. Removal of the Alternate-Brake Manifold
(2) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(3) Disconnect the hydraulic connectors (3) and (7) from the manifold (6).
(4) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
(5) Remove the four bolts (4) and the eight washers (5) and remove the manifold (6).
(6) If it is necessary to install a replacement manifold (6), remove the pressure transducer from the removed manifold (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-44-19-000-001).
WARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
(1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) and (2). (2) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(3) Disconnect the hydraulic connectors (3) and (7) from the manifold (6).
(4) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
(5) Remove the four bolts (4) and the eight washers (5) and remove the manifold (6).
(6) If it is necessary to install a replacement manifold (6), remove the pressure transducer from the removed manifold (6) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-44-19-000-001).
