Operational Check of Alternate Braking System

TASK 32-43-00-710-802-A
Operational Check of Alternate Braking System

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING: PRESSURIZE ONLY THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) THAT IS (ARE) NECESSARY FOR THE TASK. ISOLATE THE OTHER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT.

A. Get Access to the Label Parameter Call-Up Menus on the MCDU and Do a Check of the Yellow Hydraulic-Pressure of the Left and Right Brakes
ACTION
RESULT
1.Get access to the label-parameter call-up menus (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-740-008).

2.For the Yellow hydraulic pressure of the left brake, enter the label call-up parameters that follow:
EQ/SYS/LAB/SDI = 029/1/113/01 or 029/2/113/01
DATABITS = 12
NOTE: Because different DMU/FDIMUs can be installed, the number for the equipment code (EQ ID code) can be 029 or 29.
NOTE: The two label call-up parameters, left and right, can be shown on the same page at the same time.

3.For the yellow hydraulic pressure of the right brake, enter the label call-up parameters that follow:
EQ/SYS/LAB/SDI = 029/1/113/10 or 029/2/113/10
DATABITS = 12
NOTE: It is important to enter the DATABITS value. It is used for the decimal value calculation. The DATABITS default value is set to 18.

4.Push the line select keys adjacent to the parameters:
  • The parameter label call-up is shown on the Data Field with all the information.
  • The pressure is shown on the line below the DATABITS 12 label.

B. Operational Test of the Alternate Braking with Anti-Skid
ACTION
RESULT
1.Push the two brake pedals on the CAPT or F/O side.
On the MCDU and on the right center instrument-panel 400VU, on brake Yellow hydraulic-pressure triple-indicator:
  • The left and right side pressure-values are shown on the MCDU, and on the right center instrument-panel 400VU, on the brake Yellow pressure triple-indicator.
    The pistons related to the Yellow hydraulic system extend.
NOTE: Refresh is done at intervals of two seconds.
2.Release the brake pedals.
On the MCDU and the triple indicator:
  • The pressure supplied to the brakes decreases to zero.
