3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-42-77-941-055-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (4) On panel 110VU:
  • Make sure that the free-fall extension-control-handle is in the normal position.
   (5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems.

B. Depressurization of the Applicable Hydraulic System(s)
   (1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) Depressurize the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below the applicable zone 571 or 671.
   (2) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the check valve (3).
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-42-77-020-050-A
A. Removal of the Normal Brake-Return Check-Valve
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
   (1) Loosen and disconnect the coupling nut (2).
   (2) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected line ends.
   (3) Remove the check valve (3) from the manifold (5).
   (4) Remove and discard the O-ring (4) from the check valve (3).
   (5) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the open ports of the check valve (3) and the manifold (5).
