Removal of the Normal Brake Safety-Valve

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On the panel 400VU:
  • make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
  • put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to:
  • operate the landing gear doors
  • pressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems
  • pressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic system reservoirs.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Depressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic system reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (2) Make sure that the Green and the Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

D. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position at the applicable main landing gear, at zone 731(741).
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Normal Brake Safety-Valve

   (1) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the applicable normal brake safety-valve (1).
   (2) Remove the bolts (10) and the normal brake safety-valve (1).
   (3) Remove the bobbin (4) from the normal brake manifold.
   (4) Remove and discard the packings (2) and the back-up rings (3) from the bobbin (4).
   (5) Remove the filter (5) from the normal brake manifold.
   (6) Remove and discard the packings (6) and (9), the retainer (7) and the back-up ring (8) from the filter (5).
   (7) Put the filter (5) and the bobbin (4) in a sealed BAG - PLASTIC
   (8) Attach the sealed BAG - PLASTIC to the normal brake safety-valve (1).
   (9) Install a CAP - BLANKING in the normal brake manifold and the normal brake safety-valve (1).
   (10) Prevent damage to the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
