Removal of the Brake Hydraulic Self-Sealing Coupling

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems:
  • On the hydraulic ground service panels
  • In the cockpit, on hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Put the wheel chocks in position.
   (2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002)
   (3) On panel 110VU, set the PARK BRK control switch to OFF.
   (4) In the cockpit:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to operate the brake pedals
  • On panel 110VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the PARK BRK control switch (73GG) to tell persons not to operate the parking brake system.
   (5) Make sure that the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (6) Operate the manual depressurization pushbutton of the relief-valve (3067 GM) to release the accumulator hydraulic pressure.

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-42-27-020-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Brake Hydraulic Self-Sealing Coupling
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Disconnect the related hydraulic line quick-disconnect (1) from the brake hydraulic self-sealing coupling (2).
   (2) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the hydraulic line quick-disconnect (1).
   (3) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire that attaches the brake hydraulic self-sealing coupling (2) to the brake hydraulic crown (4).
   (4) Loosen the brake hydraulic self-sealing coupling (2) from the brake hydraulic crown (4).
   (5) Remove and discard the preformed packing (3) from the brake hydraulic self-sealing coupling (2).
   (6) Install a CAP - BLANKING on the related inlet port of the hydraulic crown (4).
   (7) Clean the hydraulic crown with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) to remove the unwanted hydraulic fluid.
