Installation of the Normal-Brake Servovalve Manifold Filter

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-42-16-941-053-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On the panel 400VU:
  • make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
  • make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is/are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is/are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Make sure that the access platform is in position below the applicable normal-brake servovalve manifold assembly.
   (4) Make sure that the Isolation Coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-42-16-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Use a clean lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 32-42-16-420-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation.
   (1) Use a clean lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Do a visual inspection of the filter bore in the normal-brake servovalve manifold to look for cracks. If you see cracks, replace the normal-brake servovalve manifold assembly.

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
B. Installation of the Normal-Brake Servovalve Manifold-Filter
   (1) Use the 89901 SPATULA to install the new AIPC 32-42-16-02-130 PACKING (5) on the new AIPC 32-42-16-02-120 FILTER (4).
   (2) Install the new filter (4) in the manifold.
   (3) To install the retainer (2) and the packing (3), do one of the two steps (a) or (b) that follow:
     (a) Use the
89901 SPATULA to install the new AIPC 32-42-16-02-100 RETAINER (2) and the new AIPC 32-42-16-02-110 PACKING (3) on the plug (1).
       1 Make sure that the retainer (2) and the packing (3) are correctly installed.
     (b) Do as follows:
       1 Put the
S16-0609-0872 BULLET SEAL in position on the plug (1).
       2 Use the S16-0609-0872 BULLET SEAL to install the new AIPC 32-42-16-02-100 RETAINER (2) and the new AIPC 32-42-16-02-110 PACKING (3) in the groove of the plug (1).
       3 Remove the
S16-0609-0872 BULLET SEAL from the plug (1).
       4 Install the S48515 RING HAMMERED in position on the plug (1).
       5 Use the S48515 RING HAMMERED to retract the retainer (2) and the packing (3) in the groove of the plug (1).
       6 Wait for five minutes and then remove the S48515 RING HAMMERED from the plug (1).
   (4) Install the plug (1).
CAUTION: DO A CHECK OF THE PART NUMBER AND TORQUE TO THE CORRECT VALUE.
   (5) TORQUE the plug (1) as follows:
     (a) For normal brake manifold-assembly Part Number(s) (PN) C24837100, C24837100-1, C24837100-2, C24837100-3, C24837101, C24837101-1, C24837101-2 and C24837101-3, TORQUE the plug (1) to between 105 and 100 m.N (77.43 and 73.75 lbf.ft ) T.
     (b) For normal brake manifold-assembly PN(s) C24837101-4, C24837102 and C24837102-2 , TORQUE the plug (1) to between 205 and 200 m.N (151.18 and 147.49 lbf.ft )
T.
   (6) Safety the plug (1) with the 14QFC1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES -.

D. Preparation for Test
   (1) Connect the Isolation Coupling of the PTU (
Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
   (2) Bleed the normal brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-00-870-001).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

E. Test
   (1) Do an operational check of the normal brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-00-710-001).
   (2) Do an operational check of the anti-skid inhibition (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-00-710-003).
   (3) Make sure that there are no leaks from the plug (1).

A. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
