A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001). and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(2) Make sure that the reservoirs of the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
Subtask 32-42-13-865-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001). and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(2) Make sure that the reservoirs of the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

C. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green or Yellow hydraulic systems:

- On panel 40VU in the cockpit
- On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system
- On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
D. Preparation of the Replacement Component
(1) Remove the unions (3). Remove and discard the packings (4) from the unions (3).
(2) Remove the restrictor (8). Remove and discard the packing (9) from the restrictor (8).
(3) Remove the unions (10). Remove and discard the packings (9) from the unions (10).
(4) Remove the special union (20). Remove and discard the packing (9) from the special union (20).
(5) Remove the reducer (14). Remove and discard the packing (13) from the reducer (14).
(6) Obey the hydraulic safety proceures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(7) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the:
(9) Put the new AIPC 32-42-03-04-140 PACKINGS (9) on the restrictor (8), the unions (10) and the special union (20).
(10) Put the new AIPC 32-42-03-04-160 PACKING (13) on the reducer (14).
(11) Remove the blanking plugs.
(12) Install the unions (3) in the automatic selector (5).
(13) TORQUE the unions (3) to between 1.19 and 1.08 m.daN (105.31 and 95.58 lbf.in )

(14) Install the restrictor (8) and the unions (10) in the automatic selector (5).
(15) TORQUE the restrictor (8) and the unions (10) to between 3.47 and 3.19 m.daN (25.59 and 23.53 lbf.ft )
.
(16) Install the special union (20) in the automatic selector (5).
(17) TORQUE the special union (20) to between 3.47 and 3.19 m.daN (25.59 and 23.53 lbf.ft )
.
(18) Install the reducer (14) in the automatic selector (5).
(19) TORQUE the reducer (14) to between 1.54 and 1.42 m.daN (11.36 and 10.47 lbf.ft )
.

(4) Remove the special union (20). Remove and discard the packing (9) from the special union (20).
(5) Remove the reducer (14). Remove and discard the packing (13) from the reducer (14).
(6) Obey the hydraulic safety proceures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
(7) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the:
- Threads of the unions (3) and (10)
- Threads of the special union (20)
- Threads of the restrictor (8)
- Threads of the reducer (14)
- New packings (4), (9) and (13).
(9) Put the new AIPC 32-42-03-04-140 PACKINGS (9) on the restrictor (8), the unions (10) and the special union (20).
(10) Put the new AIPC 32-42-03-04-160 PACKING (13) on the reducer (14).
(11) Remove the blanking plugs.
(12) Install the unions (3) in the automatic selector (5).
(13) TORQUE the unions (3) to between 1.19 and 1.08 m.daN (105.31 and 95.58 lbf.in )
. (14) Install the restrictor (8) and the unions (10) in the automatic selector (5).
(15) TORQUE the restrictor (8) and the unions (10) to between 3.47 and 3.19 m.daN (25.59 and 23.53 lbf.ft )
. (16) Install the special union (20) in the automatic selector (5).
(17) TORQUE the special union (20) to between 3.47 and 3.19 m.daN (25.59 and 23.53 lbf.ft )
. (18) Install the reducer (14) in the automatic selector (5).
(19) TORQUE the reducer (14) to between 1.54 and 1.42 m.daN (11.36 and 10.47 lbf.ft )
. E. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the component interface.
4. Procedure(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the component interface.
Subtask 32-42-13-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Automatic Selector 2576GM
(2) Remove the blanking plugs.
(3) Connect the connectors (1), (2) and (17) to the unions (10), (3) and to the special union (20).
(4) Put the elbow (6) in position and connect the connectors (7) to the restrictor (8).
(5) Put the restrictor valve (12) in positon and connect the connectors (11) to the union (10).
(7) TORQUE the connectors (1), (7), (11) and (17) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
.
(8) TORQUE the connectors (2) and (15) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
.
(9) Make a mark on the connections with Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative Furnishing (Material No.04JMD9) .
Subtask 32-42-13-865-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(1) Put the automatic selector (5) in position and install the washers (19) and the bolts (18). (2) Remove the blanking plugs.
(3) Connect the connectors (1), (2) and (17) to the unions (10), (3) and to the special union (20).
(4) Put the elbow (6) in position and connect the connectors (7) to the restrictor (8).
(5) Put the restrictor valve (12) in positon and connect the connectors (11) to the union (10).
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE THROTTLE VALVE. A RED ARROW, IDENTIFIED AS 'F' IS SHOWN ON SOME THROTTLE VALVES. THE ARROW SHOWS THE DIRECTION OF THE THROTTLE AND NOT THE DIRECTION OF THE FLOW. THUS, WHEN YOU INSTALL THE THROTTLE VALVE, MAKE SURE THAT THE ARROW POINTS AWAY FROM THE AUTOMATIC SELECTOR. IF YOU INSTALL THE THROTTLE VALVE IN THE INCORRECT DIRECTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SYSTEM.
(6) Put the elbow (16) in position and connect the connectors (15) to the reducer (14). (7) TORQUE the connectors (1), (7), (11) and (17) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
. (8) TORQUE the connectors (2) and (15) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
. (9) Make a mark on the connections with Top Coat Polyurethane-- Decorative Furnishing (Material No.04JMD9) .
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Preparation for Test
(1) Service the brake accumulator (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-32-614-002).
(2) Bleed the normal brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-00-870-001).
(3) Bleed the alternate brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-870-002).
Subtask 32-42-13-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Service the brake accumulator (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-32-614-002).
(2) Bleed the normal brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-00-870-001).
(3) Bleed the alternate brake system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-870-002).
D. Test
(1) Do the operational check of the normal braking system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-00-710-001).
(2) Do the operational check of the alternate braking system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001).
(3) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the automatic selector 2576GM. Leaks are not permitted.
5. Close-up(1) Do the operational check of the normal braking system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-42-00-710-001).
(2) Do the operational check of the alternate braking system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-43-00-710-001).
(3) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the automatic selector 2576GM. Leaks are not permitted.
Subtask 32-42-13-410-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Apply corrosion protection (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002) to the:
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) Close the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(7) If necessary fill the reservoirs of the Green and the Yellow hydraulic systems to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(8) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Apply corrosion protection (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002) to the:
- Heads of the bolts (18)
- Connectors (1), (2), (7), (11), (15) and (17)
- Adjacent areas.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) Close the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(7) If necessary fill the reservoirs of the Green and the Yellow hydraulic systems to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(8) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
