   (1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the left or the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).

C. Disconnection of the PTU Isolation Coupling
   (1) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (2) Disconnect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.
   (4) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic brake filter 2584GM to collect the hydraulic fluid leakage.

E. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • On the panel 40VU in the cockpit,
  • On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-42-12-020-052-A
A. Removal of the Filter 2584GM
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (2) Remove and discard the lockwire from the bowl (4) and the filter head (1).
   (3) Remove the bowl (4) and the filter cartridge (3). Discard the filter cartridge (3).

B. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) If necessary, push in the red clogging indicator.
   (5) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to:
  • The threads of the bowl (4)
  • The packing that is installed in the new filter cartridge (3).

E. Connection of the PTU Isolation Coupling
   (1) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (
Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
     (a) If necessary, fill the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
     (b) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
   (2) Test of the System:
     (a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
     (b) Operate the brakes and make sure that:
  • The clogging indicator stays in.
  • There is no hydraulic fluid leakage from hydraulic brake filter 2584GM.
     (c) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
     (d) Remove the access platform(s).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
