A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001)
(2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001)
(3) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)
(4) Make sure that the NLG doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(5) Make sure that the safety devices are installed:
(7) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons:
(9) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001)
(2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001)
(3) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)
(4) Make sure that the NLG doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(5) Make sure that the safety devices are installed:
- On the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
- On the NLG doors lever (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(7) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons:
- not to operate the landing gear control lever
- not to operate the landing gear free-fall extension system.
(9) Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
- On the panel 40VU in the cockpit
- On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system access door 197CB.
Subtask 32-33-14-420-051-A
A. Installation of the Shaft Assembly (3)
(2) On the contact surface of the bracket (2), apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) .
(3) Engage the shaft assembly (3) in the bearing assembly (19) and at the same time, put the bracket (2) in position on the FR 16.
(4) Install the bolts (20) and the nuts (1).
(5) Tighten the nuts (1).
(6) Install a new tab lock washer (18) on the shaft assembly (3).
(8) TORQUE the nut (17) to between 3.15 and 2.85 m.daN (23.23 and 21.02 lbf.ft )
.
(9) Safety the nut (17) with an outer tab of the lockwasher (18).
(10) Put and hold the bellcrank (14) on the shaft assembly (3).
(11) Install the tapered bolt (15), the bush (7), the washer (8) and the nut (9).
(12) Tighten the nut (9) and safety it with a new AIPC 32-33-01-05-130 COTTER PIN (10) (10).
(13) Install the rods (4) and (5) on the bellcrank (14) with the bolts (16), the bushes (6), the washers (13) and the nuts (11).
(14) Tighten the nuts (11) and safety them with new AIPC 32-33-01-05-010 COTTER PINS (12) (12).
Subtask 32-33-14-820-051-A Subtask 32-33-14-914-051-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE NLG DOWNLOCK SAFETY PIN AND THE TWO DOOR SAFETY PINS ARE INSTALLED.
(1) Make sure that all the connecting surfaces are clean. (2) On the contact surface of the bracket (2), apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) .
(3) Engage the shaft assembly (3) in the bearing assembly (19) and at the same time, put the bracket (2) in position on the FR 16.
(4) Install the bolts (20) and the nuts (1).
(5) Tighten the nuts (1).
(6) Install a new tab lock washer (18) on the shaft assembly (3).
NOTE: Make sure that the inner tab of the lockwasher is correctly engaged in the shaft groove.
(7) Install the nut (17) with the adapter wrench (98D320303000202) of the 98D32303000000 ADAPTER-WRENCH KIT. (8) TORQUE the nut (17) to between 3.15 and 2.85 m.daN (23.23 and 21.02 lbf.ft )
. (9) Safety the nut (17) with an outer tab of the lockwasher (18).
(10) Put and hold the bellcrank (14) on the shaft assembly (3).
(11) Install the tapered bolt (15), the bush (7), the washer (8) and the nut (9).
(12) Tighten the nut (9) and safety it with a new AIPC 32-33-01-05-130 COTTER PIN (10) (10).
(13) Install the rods (4) and (5) on the bellcrank (14) with the bolts (16), the bushes (6), the washers (13) and the nuts (11).
(14) Tighten the nuts (11) and safety them with new AIPC 32-33-01-05-010 COTTER PINS (12) (12).
C. Protection
(1) Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) to:

- the nut (9), the washer (8) and the bush (7)
- the nuts (11), the washers (13)
- the heads of the bolts (16)
- the nut (17) and the lock washer (18).
D. Installation of NLG Free-Fall Extension Cables.
(1) Install the NLG free-fall extension cables (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-16-400-001).
(2) Adjust the tension of the cables (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-001).

E. Test
5. Close-upCAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE RIGGING PINS ARE REMOVED BEFORE OPERATION OF THE FREE FALL SYSTEM. DAMAGE WILL OCCUR IF THE RIGGING PINS ARE INSTALLED DURING SYSTEM OPERATION.
(1) Do a functional test of the Nose landing-gear free-fall extension system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-720-004). Subtask 32-33-14-862-051-A Subtask 32-33-14-410-051-A
B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the floor panels 211FF, 211JF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-11-400-001).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Close the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the floor panels 211FF, 211JF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-11-400-001).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Close the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
