A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear and the NLG doors.
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle (panel 110VU) to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
Subtask 32-31-73-010-059-A
B. Get Access
   (1) Open the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the applicable zone 123 (124).
Subtask 32-31-73-869-062-A
C. Flight Configuration Precautions
   (1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
   (2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.

4. Procedure
Subtask 32-31-73-220-084-A
A. Dimensional Checks
   (1) Measure the dimension X, the vertical distance between the center of the proximity sensor and the center of its target. Make sure that the dimension X is to a maximum of 3.0 mm (0.1181 in.).
NOTE: The target center location can be on each side of the sensor center.
   (2) Measure the dimension Y, the horizontal distance between the center of the proximity sensor and the center of its target. Make sure the the dimension Y is to a maximum of 2.5 mm (0.0984 in.).
NOTE: The target center location can be on each side of the sensor center.
   (3) Measure the dimension Z, the distance between the proximity sensor and its target. Make sure that the dimension Z is 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.) +/- 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.).
Subtask 32-31-73-820-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Adjustment of the NLG Door Open Proximity Sensors 36GA, 37GA, 38GA, 39GA
   (1) If the dimension Z and/or the dimension X is incorrect, do a check of the NLG door clearances and mismatches (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-220-001).
   (2) If necessary, adjust the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-820-001).
Subtask 32-31-73-820-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Adjustment of the NLG Door Open Proximity Sensors 36GA, 37GA, 38GA, 39GA
   (1) If the dimension Z is incorrect, do a check of the NLG door clearances and mismatches (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-220-001).
   (2) If necessary, adjust the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-820-001).
   (3) To adjust the proximity sensor (2) for dimension X:
     (a) Loosen the nuts (1).
     (b) Make sure the proximity sensor (2) center is not more than a maximum distance of 3.0 mm (0.1181 in.) from the target (3) center.
NOTE: The proximity sensor (2) center location can be on each side of the target (3) center.
     (c) Torque the nuts (1) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in ) T.
     (d) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.
06AAB1) to the nuts (1).
   (4) If the dimension X stays incorrect, do a check of the NLG door clearances and mismatches (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-220-001).
   (5) If necessary, adjust the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-820-001).
