4. Procedure
Subtask 32-31-73-220-083-A
A. Dimensional Check
   (1) Measure the dimension Z between each proximity sensor and its target. The correct dimension should be 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.) +/- 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.).
   (2) If the dimension Z is incorrect, do the adjustment procedure in Para 4.B.(1), steps (a) thru (n).
   (3) Measure the dimension X between the center line of each proximity sensor and its target. The correct dimension must be to a maximum of 3.5 mm (0.1378 in.) each side of the center line.
   (4) If the dimension X is incorrect, do the adjustment procedure in Para 4.B.(2), steps (a) thru (i).
Subtask 32-31-73-820-052-A
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
B. Adjustment of the MLG Door Open Proximity Sensors 32GA, 33GA, 34GA, 35GA
NOTE: It is permitted to install a sensor target without a spacer if the correct clearance can be set without the spacer.
   (1) If the dimension Z is incorrect, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the applicable proximity sensor (4):
  • For System 1, LH, disconnect FIN 33GA
  • For System 1, RH, disconnect FIN 32GA
  • For System 2, LH, disconnect FIN 35GA
  • For System 2, RH, disconnect FIN 34GA.
     (b) Put a blanking cap on the disconnected electrical connector (3).
     (c) Remove the nuts (12), the washers (13) and the bolts (1).
     (d) Remove the proximity sensor (4) from the sensor mounting bracket (2) with the spacers (14) and/or (15) if installed.
     (e) Make sure that the sensor mounting bracket (2) is in the correct condition.
     (f) To decrease the dimension Z, add the 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.) AIPC 32-31-03-26-075 SPACER (14) or AIPC 32-31-83-26-060 SPACER (14) and/or the 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.) AIPC 32-31-03-26-070 SPACER (15) or AIPC 32-31-83-26-050 SPACER (15) as necessary.
     (g) To increase the dimension Z, remove the 0.5 mm (0.0197 in.)
AIPC 32-31-03-26-075 SPACER (14) or AIPC 32-31-83-26-060 SPACER (14) and/or the 2.0 mm (0.0787 in.) AIPC 32-31-03-26-070 SPACER (15) or AIPC 32-31-83-26-050 SPACER (15) as required.
