A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On panel 400VU:
Subtask 32-31-73-860-059-A (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear and the MLG doors.
- On panel 40VU in the cockpit
- On the ground service panel of the Green Hydraulic system, access door (197CB).
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(2) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(3) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
Subtask 32-31-73-582-057-A Subtask 32-31-73-010-056-A (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(2) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(3) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the applicable zone 734(744).
(2) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuator.
Subtask 32-31-73-865-071-A (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the applicable zone 734(744).
(2) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuator.
E. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Dimensional Check
(1) Measure the dimensions that follow for the rear proximity sensors 20GA(21GA) (System 1):
(4) If the dimensions are incorrect, do the adjustment procedure in Para. 4.C.
Subtask 32-31-73-220-082-B (1) Measure the dimensions that follow for the rear proximity sensors 20GA(21GA) (System 1):
- Dimension X 3.9 mm (0.1535 in.) to 4.1 mm (0.1614 in.)
- Dimension Z 1.4 mm (0.0551 in.) to 1.6 mm (0.0630 in.).
- Dimension X 3.9 mm (0.1535 in.) to 4.1 mm (0.1614 in.)
- Dimension Z 1.4 mm (0.0551 in.) to 1.6 mm (0.0630 in.).
(4) If the dimensions are incorrect, do the adjustment procedure in Para. 4.C.
B. Check of the Proximity Sensor Detection Range
(1) Make sure that the applicable MLG is correctly filled and charged (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-32-614-003).
(2) Measure the dimension A. Make sure the dimension A is between 632.80 mm (24.9134 in.) and 636.95 mm (25.0768 in.).
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector from the applicable rear and forward proximity sensors 20GA(21GA) (System 1), 22GA(23GA) (System 2).
(4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Connect the 460005842 LAMP BOX to the electrical connector of the applicable proximity sensors 20GA(21GA) (System 1), 22GA(23GA) (system 2).
(6) Make sure that the switches on the lamp box are set to OFF.
(7) Connect a SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL to the lamp box and set the power switch to ON.
(8) Make sure that the RED lamp on the lamp box is ON.
(9) Set the indicator switches on the lamp box to ON and make sure that the GREEN lamps on the lamp box are ON.
(10) Put a SCREW-JACK (0.190-28 IN) under the jacking dome of the applicable shock absorber.
(11) Slowly operate the jack to ensure that the jack-plunger locates safely.
(12) Use the jack to slowly compress the applicable MLG shock absorber.
(13) When the MLG shock absorber is compressed by 26.0 mm (1.0236 in.):
(a) The applicable forward proximity sensor 22GA(23GA) must operate.
(b) The applicable GREEN lamp on the lamp box must go OFF.
(14) When the MLG shock absorber is compressed by 29.3 mm (1.1535 in.):
(a) The applicable rear proximity sensor 20GA(21GA) must operate.
(b) The applicable GREEN lamp on the lamp box must go OFF.
(15) Slowly release the pressure from the jack to fully extend the shock absorber.
(16) Do the steps (12) thru (15) one more time.
(17) Remove the jack.
(18) Set the lamp box switches to OFF, and disconnect the 28V D.C. supply.
(19) Remove the 460005842 LAMP BOX from the applicable proximity sensor.
(20) Remove the CAP - BLANKING and connect the electrical connector to the applicable forward and rear proximity sensors.
Subtask 32-31-73-820-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the applicable MLG is correctly filled and charged (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-32-614-003).
(2) Measure the dimension A. Make sure the dimension A is between 632.80 mm (24.9134 in.) and 636.95 mm (25.0768 in.).
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector from the applicable rear and forward proximity sensors 20GA(21GA) (System 1), 22GA(23GA) (System 2).
(4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Connect the 460005842 LAMP BOX to the electrical connector of the applicable proximity sensors 20GA(21GA) (System 1), 22GA(23GA) (system 2).
(6) Make sure that the switches on the lamp box are set to OFF.
(7) Connect a SUPPLY - 28 VDC, ELECTRICAL to the lamp box and set the power switch to ON.
(8) Make sure that the RED lamp on the lamp box is ON.
(9) Set the indicator switches on the lamp box to ON and make sure that the GREEN lamps on the lamp box are ON.
(10) Put a SCREW-JACK (0.190-28 IN) under the jacking dome of the applicable shock absorber.
(11) Slowly operate the jack to ensure that the jack-plunger locates safely.
(12) Use the jack to slowly compress the applicable MLG shock absorber.
(13) When the MLG shock absorber is compressed by 26.0 mm (1.0236 in.):
(a) The applicable forward proximity sensor 22GA(23GA) must operate.
(b) The applicable GREEN lamp on the lamp box must go OFF.
(14) When the MLG shock absorber is compressed by 29.3 mm (1.1535 in.):
(a) The applicable rear proximity sensor 20GA(21GA) must operate.
(b) The applicable GREEN lamp on the lamp box must go OFF.
(15) Slowly release the pressure from the jack to fully extend the shock absorber.
(16) Do the steps (12) thru (15) one more time.
(17) Remove the jack.
(18) Set the lamp box switches to OFF, and disconnect the 28V D.C. supply.
(19) Remove the 460005842 LAMP BOX from the applicable proximity sensor.
(20) Remove the CAP - BLANKING and connect the electrical connector to the applicable forward and rear proximity sensors.
C. Adjustment of the MLG Extension Proximity Sensors 20GA (21GA) (System 1) and 22GA (23GA) (System 2)
(2) Make sure that the applicable MLG shock absorber is correctly filled and charged (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-32-614-003).
(3) For the rear proximity sensor 20GA (21GA):
(b) Use the formula to calculate dimension X.
(c) Remove the nuts (18), the washers (17) and the screws (14).
(d) Remove the target (15).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (16) if installed.
(f) Make sure that the target mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g) If necessary, adjust the new AIPC 32-11-11-53-050 SPACER (16) to get the correct dimension X.

(j) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the areas that follow:
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Remove the nuts (13), the washers (12) and the screws (10).
(d) Remove the applicable proximity sensor 20GA (21GA).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (11) if installed.
(f) Make sure that the sensor mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g) If necessary, adjust the new AIPC 32-11-11-22-095 SPACER (11) to get the correct dimension Z.
(i) Install the screws (10), the washers (12) and the nuts (13).
(j) TORQUE the nuts (13) to between .45 and .39 m.daN (39.82 and 34.51 lbf.in )

(k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the areas that follow:
(m) Connect the electrical connector to the applicable proximity sensor 20GA (21GA).
(5) For the forward proximity sensor 22GA (23GA):
(b) Use the formula to calculate dimension X.
(c) Remove the nuts (7), the washers (6) and the screws (4).
(d) Remove the target (3).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (5) if installed.
(f) Make sure that the target mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g) If necessary, adjust the new AIPC 32-11-11-83-150 SPACER (5) to get the correct dimension X.

(j) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the areas that follow:
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Remove the nuts (8), the washers (9) and the screws (2).
(d) Remove the applicable proximity sensor 22GA (23GA).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (1) if installed.
(f) Make sure that the sensor mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g) If necessary, adjust the new AIPC 32-11-11-22-055 SPACER (1) to get the correct dimension Z.
(i) Install the screws (2), the washers (9) and the nuts (8).
(j) TORQUE the nuts (8) to between .45 and .39 m.daN (39.82 and 34.51 lbf.in )

(k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the areas that follow:
(m) Connect the electrical connector to the applicable proximity sensor 22GA (23GA).
(7) Do a check of the proximity-sensor detection range given in Para. 4.B.
Subtask 32-31-73-820-051-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: It is permitted to install a sensor target without a spacer if the correct clearance can be set without the spacer.
(1) Make sure that the aircraft is lifted on jacks to fully extend the shock absorber (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-001). (2) Make sure that the applicable MLG shock absorber is correctly filled and charged (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-32-614-003).
(3) For the rear proximity sensor 20GA (21GA):
- If dimension X is incorrect, do the steps that follow:
NOTE: Dimension X must be between 3.9 mm (0.1535 in.) and 4.1 mm (0.1614 in.).
(a) Measure dimensions F, G and H. (b) Use the formula to calculate dimension X.
(c) Remove the nuts (18), the washers (17) and the screws (14).
(d) Remove the target (15).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (16) if installed.
(f) Make sure that the target mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g) If necessary, adjust the new AIPC 32-11-11-53-050 SPACER (16) to get the correct dimension X.
NOTE: It is possible that two spacers are necessary.
(h) Install the new spacer(s) (16) if necessary, and the target (15) together with: - The screws (14)
- The washers (17)
- The nuts (18).
. (j) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the areas that follow:
- Around the joints between the target (15), the spacer (16) if installed, and the target mounting bracket
- The heads and the ends of the screws (14)
- The washers (17)
- The nuts (18).
- If dimension Z is incorrect, do the steps that follow:
NOTE: Dimension Z must be between 1.4 mm (0.0551 in.) and 1.6 mm (0.0630 in.).
(a) Disconnect the electrical connector from the applicable proximity sensor 20GA (21GA). (b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Remove the nuts (13), the washers (12) and the screws (10).
(d) Remove the applicable proximity sensor 20GA (21GA).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (11) if installed.
(f) Make sure that the sensor mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g) If necessary, adjust the new AIPC 32-11-11-22-095 SPACER (11) to get the correct dimension Z.
NOTE: It is possible that two spacers are necessary.
(h) Put the applicable proximity sensor 20GA (21GA) and the new spacer(s) (11) if necessary, in position on the sensor mounting bracket. (i) Install the screws (10), the washers (12) and the nuts (13).
(j) TORQUE the nuts (13) to between .45 and .39 m.daN (39.82 and 34.51 lbf.in )
. (k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the areas that follow:
- Around the joints between the applicable proximity sensor 20GA (21GA), the spacer (11) if installed, and the sensor mounting bracket
- The heads and the ends of the screws (10)
- The washers (12)
- The nuts (13).
(m) Connect the electrical connector to the applicable proximity sensor 20GA (21GA).
(5) For the forward proximity sensor 22GA (23GA):
- If dimension X is incorrect, do the steps that follow:
NOTE: Dimension X must be between 3.9 mm (0.1535 in.) and 4.1 mm (0.1614 in.).
(a) Measure dimensions J, K and L. (b) Use the formula to calculate dimension X.
(c) Remove the nuts (7), the washers (6) and the screws (4).
(d) Remove the target (3).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (5) if installed.
(f) Make sure that the target mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g) If necessary, adjust the new AIPC 32-11-11-83-150 SPACER (5) to get the correct dimension X.
NOTE: It is possible that two spacers are necessary.
(h) Install the new spacer (5) if necessary, and the target (3) together with: - The screws (4)
- The washers (6)
- The nuts (7).
. (j) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the areas that follow:
- Around the joints between the target (3), the spacer (5) if installed, and the target mounting bracket
- The heads and the ends of the screws (4)
- The washers (6)
- The nuts (7).
- If dimension Z is incorrect, do the steps that follow:
NOTE: Dimension Z must be between 1.4 mm (0.0551 in.) and 1.6 mm (0.0630 in.).
(a) Disconnect the electrical connector from the applicable proximity sensor 22GA (23GA). (b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Remove the nuts (8), the washers (9) and the screws (2).
(d) Remove the applicable proximity sensor 22GA (23GA).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (1) if installed.
(f) Make sure that the sensor mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g) If necessary, adjust the new AIPC 32-11-11-22-055 SPACER (1) to get the correct dimension Z.
NOTE: It is possible that two spacers are necessary.
(h) Put the applicable proximity sensor 22GA (23GA) and the new spacer (1) if necessary, in position on the sensor mounting bracket. (i) Install the screws (2), the washers (9) and the nuts (8).
(j) TORQUE the nuts (8) to between .45 and .39 m.daN (39.82 and 34.51 lbf.in )
. (k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the areas that follow:
- Around the joints between the applicable proximity sensor 22GA (23GA), the spacer (1) if installed, and the sensor mounting bracket
- The heads and the ends of the screws (2)
- The washers (9)
- The nuts (8).
(m) Connect the electrical connector to the applicable proximity sensor 22GA (23GA).
(7) Do a check of the proximity-sensor detection range given in Para. 4.B.
C. Adjustment of the MLG Extension Proximity Sensors 20GA(21GA) (System 1) and 22GA(23GA) (System 2)
(2) Make sure that the applicable MLG shock absorber is correctly filled and charged (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-32-614-003).
(3) For the rear proximity sensor 20GA(21GA):
(b) Use the formula to calculate the dimension X.
(c) Remove the nuts (18), the washers (17) and the screws (14).
(d) Remove the target (15).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (16) if installed.
(f) Make sure that the target mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g) If necessary, adjust the new AIPC 32-11-11-53-050 SPACER (16) or AIPC 32-11-85-53-050 SPACER (16) to get the correct dimension X.

(j) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay Landing Gear (Material No.06AAC5) to the areas that follow:
(b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(c) Remove the nuts (13), the washers (12) and the screws (10).
(d) Remove the applicable proximity sensor 20GA(21GA).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (11) if installed.
(f) Make sure that the sensor mounting bracket is in the correct condition.
(g) If necessary, adjust the new AIPC 32-11-11-22-095 SPACER (11) or AIPC 32-11-85-20-095 SPACER (11) to get the correct dimension Z.
(i) Install the screws (10), the washers (12) and the nuts (13).
(j) TORQUE the nuts (13) to between 0.45 and 0.39 m.daN (39.82 and 34.51 lbf.in )

(k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay Landing Gear (Material No.06AAC5) to the areas that follow:
(5) For the forward proximity sensor 22GA(23GA):
(b) Use the formula to calculate the dimension X.
(c) Remove the nuts (7), the washers (6) and the screws (4).
(d) Remove the target (3).
(e) Remove and discard the spacer (5) if installed.
(f) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Hydraulic (Material No.06LDG6) to the mating surface of the spacer (5) and the upper torque link assembly.
(g) Install the new AIPC 32-11-11-83-150 SPACER (5) or AIPC 32-11-85-83-150 SPACER (5) if necessary, and the target (3) together with:
(i) If necessary, adjust the new spacer (5) to get the correct dimension X.

(k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay Landing Gear (Material No.06AAC5) to the areas that follow:

(h) Put the applicable proximity sensor 22GA (23GA) and the new spacer (1) if necessary, in position on the sensor mounting bracket. (i) Install the screws (2), the washers (9) and the nuts (8).
(j) TORQUE the nuts (8) to between 0.45 and 0.39 m.daN (39.82 and 34.51 lbf.in )
. (k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the areas that follow:
- Around the joints between the applicable proximity sensor 22GA (23GA), the spacer (1) if installed, and the sensor mounting bracket
- The heads and the ends of the screws (2)
- The washers (9)
- The nuts (8).
(m) Connect the electrical connector to the applicable proximity sensor 22GA (23GA).
(7) Do a check of the proximity-sensor detection range given in Para. 4.B.
D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
