A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:

(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
- In the cockpit, on the HYD overhead panel 40VU
- On the hydraulic ground service panels 197CB and 198CB
- On the access door 195BB.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems have been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs have been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
Subtask 32-31-46-869-055-A (1) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems have been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs have been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
C. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the flight configuration precautions with electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the circuit breakers.
Subtask 32-31-46-865-053-A (1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the flight configuration precautions with electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the circuit breakers.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to the interface of the pin (3).
(3) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
Subtask 32-31-46-420-057-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

(2) Use the 98D32104014000 GUIDE CONE to install the pin (3).
(3) Make sure that the greasers (2) point aft.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the interfaces of the:
(6) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 3.0 and 2.4 m.daN (22.12 and 17.70 lbf.ft )

(7) Safety the nut (7) with the new AIPC 32-31-46-01-160 COTTER PIN (8).
(8) Apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the bolt (1) and the nut (7).
Subtask 32-31-46-420-058-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(1) Engage the piston eye-end (4) in the attachment lugs of the MLG leg. Make sure that the greaser on the piston eye-end (4) points down. (2) Use the 98D32104014000 GUIDE CONE to install the pin (3).
(3) Make sure that the greasers (2) point aft.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the interfaces of the:
- Pin (3) with the cap (5)
- Washer (6) with the cap (5)
- Nut (7) with the washer (6)
- Bolt (1) with the nut (7).
NOTE: You must not apply sealant to the interfaces of the:
(5) Install the cap (5), the bolt (1), the washer (6) and the nut (7). - Pin (3) and the MLG leg lugs
- Cap (5) and the MLG leg lugs.
(6) TORQUE the nut (7) to between 3.0 and 2.4 m.daN (22.12 and 17.70 lbf.ft )
. (7) Safety the nut (7) with the new AIPC 32-31-46-01-160 COTTER PIN (8).
(8) Apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the bolt (1) and the nut (7).
B. Installation of the MLG Actuating Cylinder Eye-End Pin
(1) Engage the piston eye-end (5) in the attachment lugs of the MLG leg. Make sure that the greaser on the piston eye-end (5) points down.
(2) Use the 98D32104014000 GUIDE CONE to install the pin (6).
(3) Make sure that the greasers (7) point aft.
(4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Density Multi Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06ACA1) to the interfaces of the:
(6) Install the cap (1), the bolt (8), the washer (4) and the nut (3).
(7) TORQUE the nut (3) to between 3.0 and 2.4 m.daN (22.12 and 17.70 lbf.ft )

(8) Safety the nut (3) with the new AIPC 32-31-46-01-160 COTTER PIN (2) or the new AIPC 32-31-85-10-160 COTTER PIN (2).
(9) Application of sealants:

(6) Install the cap (1), the bolt (8), the washer (4) and the nut (3).

- Head of the bolt (8)
- Nut (3)
- Washer (4).

- Head of the bolt (8)
- Nut (3)
- Washer (4).
- Head of the bolt (8)

C. Dimensional Check
(1) Make sure that the dimensions Y1 and Y2 are more than zero at the anti-roll pegs (9). Dimensions Y1 and Y2 are the clearance when the opposite anti-roll peg is held against the washer (10).

C. Dimensional Check
(1) Make sure that the dimensions Y1 and Y2 are more than zero at the anti-roll pegs (9). Dimensions Y1 and Y2 are the clearance when the opposite anti-roll peg is held against the washer (10).

(1) Make sure that the dimensions Y1 and Y2 are more than zero at the anti-roll pegs (9). Dimensions Y1 and Y2 are the clearance when the opposite anti-roll peg is held against the washer (10).

D. Continue with the Installation Procedure
(1) Lubricate the MLG actuating cylinder and fittings (Ref. AMM TASK 12-22-32-640-001).

E. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Connect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
(4) Close the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
