A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(4) On the panel 400VU:
Subtask 32-31-46-869-058-A (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(4) On the panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
- In the cockpit, on the HYD overhead panel 40VU
- On the hydraulic ground service-panels 197CB and 198CB
- On the access door 195BB.
B. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the circuit breakers.
Subtask 32-31-46-865-055-A (1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the circuit breakers.

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the power transfer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Depressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Depressurize the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
Subtask 32-31-46-010-054-B (1) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the power transfer unit (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Depressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Depressurize the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
E. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) FOR [2503GM] (ACTG CYL-MLG, L)
(b) Remove the nuts (17) and (18) and the bridge plates (15) and (16).
(c) Remove the cover plates (13) and (14).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position:
(a) FOR [2503GM] (ACTG CYL-MLG, L)
- Below zone 571.
- Below zone 671.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (19) and (20). (b) Remove the nuts (17) and (18) and the bridge plates (15) and (16).
(c) Remove the cover plates (13) and (14).
Subtask 32-31-46-020-052-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the MLG Actuating Cylinder Wing-End Pin
(1) Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the actuating cylinder.
(2) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(3) Attach the hydraulic hoses to the adjacent structure. Do not make kinks in the hydraulic hoses.
(4) Remove and discard the cotter pin (2).
(5) Remove the nut (3), the washer (4), the nylon-washer (5), the bolt (6) and the collar (7).
(6) Remove the pin (1) from the actuating cylinder and the the wing mounting lug.
Subtask 32-31-46-020-052-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the actuating cylinder.
(2) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(3) Attach the hydraulic hoses to the adjacent structure. Do not make kinks in the hydraulic hoses.
(4) Remove and discard the cotter pin (2).
(5) Remove the nut (3), the washer (4), the nylon-washer (5), the bolt (6) and the collar (7).
(6) Remove the pin (1) from the actuating cylinder and the the wing mounting lug.

(1) Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the actuating cylinder.
(2) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(3) Attach the hydraulic hoses to the adjacent structure. Do not make kinks in the hydraulic hoses.
(4) Remove and discard the cotter pin (2).
(5) Remove the:
Subtask 32-31-46-020-052-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the actuating cylinder.
(2) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(3) Attach the hydraulic hoses to the adjacent structure. Do not make kinks in the hydraulic hoses.
(4) Remove and discard the cotter pin (2).
(5) Remove the:
- Nut (3)
- Washer (4)
- Washer (5), if installed
- Nylon-washer (6)
- Washer (7), if installed
- Bolt (8)
- Collar (9).
A. Removal of the MLG Actuating Cylinder Wing-End Pin hydraulic hoses.
(1) Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the actuating cylinder.
(2) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(3) Attach the hydraulic hoses to the adjacent structure. Do not make kinks in the hydraulic hoses.
(4) Remove and discard the cotter pin (7).
(5) Remove the:
(1) Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the actuating cylinder.
(2) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(3) Attach the hydraulic hoses to the adjacent structure. Do not make kinks in the hydraulic hoses.
(4) Remove and discard the cotter pin (7).
(5) Remove the:
- Nut (6)
- Washer (5)
- Nylon-washer (4)
- Bolt (2)
- Collar (3).
