Removal of the MLG Door Uplock

A. Get Access
(1) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
Subtask 32-31-33-860-050-A (1) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Disconnect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(3) Obey the flight configuration precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).
Subtask 32-31-33-865-054-A (1) Disconnect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(3) Obey the flight configuration precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).

D. Safety Precautions
(1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
(3) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the MLG door uplock to collect the hydraulic fluid leakage.
4. Procedure(1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
- On panel 40VU in the cockpit
- On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
(3) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the MLG door uplock to collect the hydraulic fluid leakage.
Subtask 32-31-33-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the MLG Door Uplock
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Disconnect the unions (3) and (10) from the hydraulic connectors of the MLG door uplock (4).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Disconnect the bonding strap (7) from the MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove the nut (5), the bolt (9) and the washers (6) and (8).
(b) Disconnect the bonding strap (7) and attach it to the adjacent structure with the TIE WRAP.
(6) Disconnect the control rod (15) from the lever (16) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (17).
(b) Remove the nut (18), the washer (19), the bolt (20) and the bush (21).
(c) Move the control rod (15) away from the MLG door uplock (4).
(7) Disconnect the control rod (28) from the lever (22) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (26).
(b) Remove the nut (25), the washer (24), the bolt (23) and the bush (29).
(c) Move the control rod (28) away from the MLG door uplock (4).
(8) Remove the MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (12).
(b) Remove the nuts (13) and the washers (11).
(c) Hold the MLG door uplock (4) and remove the bolts (2).
(d) Remove the MLG door uplock (4) and the bushes (1).
(9) Do the steps that follow:
(a) Identify the position of the switch brackets (32), the proximity sensors (30) and the shims (31) before you remove them.
(b) Remove the cap screws (34) and the washers (33).
(c) Remove the switch brackets (32) together with the proximity sensors (30) and the shims (31).
(d) Remove the nuts (39), the cap screws (35) and the washers (36).
(e) Remove the switch brackets (32) from the proximity sensors (30).
(10) If you will install a replacement MLG door uplock (4), remove the levers (16) and (22) from the removed MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (44).
(b) Remove the nut (45), the washer (46), the bolt (47) and the lever (16).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pin (43).
(d) Remove the nut (42), the washer (41), the bolt (40) and the lever (22).
(e) Retain the levers (16) and (22) for installation.
Subtask 32-31-33-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (37) and (38) from the proximity sensors (30).(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Disconnect the unions (3) and (10) from the hydraulic connectors of the MLG door uplock (4).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Disconnect the bonding strap (7) from the MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove the nut (5), the bolt (9) and the washers (6) and (8).
(b) Disconnect the bonding strap (7) and attach it to the adjacent structure with the TIE WRAP.
(6) Disconnect the control rod (15) from the lever (16) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (17).
(b) Remove the nut (18), the washer (19), the bolt (20) and the bush (21).
(c) Move the control rod (15) away from the MLG door uplock (4).
(7) Disconnect the control rod (28) from the lever (22) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (26).
(b) Remove the nut (25), the washer (24), the bolt (23) and the bush (29).
(c) Move the control rod (28) away from the MLG door uplock (4).
(8) Remove the MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (12).
(b) Remove the nuts (13) and the washers (11).
(c) Hold the MLG door uplock (4) and remove the bolts (2).
(d) Remove the MLG door uplock (4) and the bushes (1).
(9) Do the steps that follow:
(a) Identify the position of the switch brackets (32), the proximity sensors (30) and the shims (31) before you remove them.
(b) Remove the cap screws (34) and the washers (33).
(c) Remove the switch brackets (32) together with the proximity sensors (30) and the shims (31).
(d) Remove the nuts (39), the cap screws (35) and the washers (36).
(e) Remove the switch brackets (32) from the proximity sensors (30).
(10) If you will install a replacement MLG door uplock (4), remove the levers (16) and (22) from the removed MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (44).
(b) Remove the nut (45), the washer (46), the bolt (47) and the lever (16).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pin (43).
(d) Remove the nut (42), the washer (41), the bolt (40) and the lever (22).
(e) Retain the levers (16) and (22) for installation.
A. Removal of the MLG Door Uplock
(a) Remove the nuts (44), the washers (43) and the cap screws (39).
(b) Remove the clamp blocks (38).
(c) Disconnect the electrical connectors (40) and (41).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Disconnect the unions (3) and (10) from the hydraulic connectors of the MLG door uplock (4).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Disconnect the bonding strap (7) from the MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove the nut (5), the bolt (9) and the washers (6) and (8).
(b) Disconnect the bonding strap (7) and attach it to the adjacent structure with the TIE WRAP.
(6) Disconnect the control rod (15) from the lever (16) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (17).
(b) Remove the nut (18), the washer (19), the bolt (20) and the bush (21).
(c) Move the control rod (15) away from the MLG door uplock (4).
(7) Disconnect the control rod (28) from the lever (22) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (26).
(b) Remove the nut (25), the washer (24), the bolt (23) and the bush (29).
(c) Move the control rod (28) away from the MLG door uplock (4).
(8) Remove the MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (12).
(b) Remove the nuts (13) and the washers (11).
(c) Hold the MLG door uplock (4) and remove the bolts (2).
(d) Remove the MLG door uplock (4) and the bushes (1).
(9) Do the steps that follow:
(a) Identify the position of the switch brackets (36) and (37), the proximity sensors (30) and the shims (31) before you remove them.
(b) Remove the nut (45), the washer (46), the cap screw (48) and the shim (47).
(c) Remove the cap screws (33) and the washers (32).
(d) Remove the switch brackets (36) and (37) together with the proximity sensors (30) and the shims (31).
(e) Remove the nuts (42), the cap screws (34) and the washers (35).
(f) Remove the switch brackets (36) and (37) from the proximity sensors (30).
(10) If you will install a replacement MLG door uplock (4), remove the levers (16) and (22) from the removed MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (54).
(b) Remove the nut (55), the washer (56), the bolt (57) and the lever (16).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pin (53).
(d) Remove the nut (52), the washer (51), the bolt (50) and the lever (22).
(e) Retain the levers (16) and (22) for installation.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(1) Disconnect the electrical connectors (40) and (41) from the proximity sensors (30) as follows:(a) Remove the nuts (44), the washers (43) and the cap screws (39).
(b) Remove the clamp blocks (38).
(c) Disconnect the electrical connectors (40) and (41).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Disconnect the unions (3) and (10) from the hydraulic connectors of the MLG door uplock (4).
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Disconnect the bonding strap (7) from the MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove the nut (5), the bolt (9) and the washers (6) and (8).
(b) Disconnect the bonding strap (7) and attach it to the adjacent structure with the TIE WRAP.
(6) Disconnect the control rod (15) from the lever (16) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (17).
(b) Remove the nut (18), the washer (19), the bolt (20) and the bush (21).
(c) Move the control rod (15) away from the MLG door uplock (4).
(7) Disconnect the control rod (28) from the lever (22) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (26).
(b) Remove the nut (25), the washer (24), the bolt (23) and the bush (29).
(c) Move the control rod (28) away from the MLG door uplock (4).
(8) Remove the MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pins (12).
(b) Remove the nuts (13) and the washers (11).
(c) Hold the MLG door uplock (4) and remove the bolts (2).
(d) Remove the MLG door uplock (4) and the bushes (1).
(9) Do the steps that follow:
(a) Identify the position of the switch brackets (36) and (37), the proximity sensors (30) and the shims (31) before you remove them.
(b) Remove the nut (45), the washer (46), the cap screw (48) and the shim (47).
(c) Remove the cap screws (33) and the washers (32).
(d) Remove the switch brackets (36) and (37) together with the proximity sensors (30) and the shims (31).
(e) Remove the nuts (42), the cap screws (34) and the washers (35).
(f) Remove the switch brackets (36) and (37) from the proximity sensors (30).
(10) If you will install a replacement MLG door uplock (4), remove the levers (16) and (22) from the removed MLG door uplock (4) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (54).
(b) Remove the nut (55), the washer (56), the bolt (57) and the lever (16).
(c) Remove and discard the cotter pin (53).
(d) Remove the nut (52), the washer (51), the bolt (50) and the lever (22).
(e) Retain the levers (16) and (22) for installation.
