Subtask 32-31-21-860-051-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001)
(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
(6) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the NLG uplock assy (2530GM).
(7) Make sure that the doors of the nose landing gear are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(8) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position in zone 123.
(9) Make sure that you obeyed the flight configuration precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).
Subtask 32-31-21-865-051-A (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001)
(2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
- on the panel 40VU in the cockpit,
- on the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system, access door (197CB).
(6) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the NLG uplock assy (2530GM).
(7) Make sure that the doors of the nose landing gear are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(8) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position in zone 123.
(9) Make sure that you obeyed the flight configuration precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 32-31-21-110-050-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the surfaces and the connection elements with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and dry with filtered compressed air.
(2) Apply a light coat of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the hardware.
Subtask 32-31-21-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the surfaces and the connection elements with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) and dry with filtered compressed air.
(2) Apply a light coat of Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) on the hardware.
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
B. Installation of the NLG Uplock Assy
(1) Put the uplock assy (12) in position and install the screws (28) and (29).
(2) Measure the distance between the uplock assy (12) and the structure fork end.
(3) Use adjustment AIPC 32-31-01-07-050 WASHERS (7) and/or AIPC 32-31-01-07-060 WASHERS (7) get the clearance J = 0.13 mm (0.0051 in.) to 0.20 mm (0.0079 in.).
(4) Remove the screws (28) and (29) and remove the uplock assy (12).
(5) Put the uplock assy (12) in position with the adjustment washers (7). Install the screws (28) and (29).
(6) Install the washers (1) and (6) and the nuts (2) and (5).
(7) TORQUE the nuts (2) to between 1.6 and 1.4 m.daN (11.80 and 10.32 lbf.ft )
and (5) and safety them with the AIPC 32-31-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (3) and the AIPC 32-31-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (4).
(8) Install the lever (16) on the uplock (12).
(9) Install the screw (17), the washer (15) and the nut (14). TORQUE the nut (14) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )
and safety it with the new AIPC 32-33-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (13).
Subtask 32-31-21-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the uplock assy (12) in position and install the screws (28) and (29).
(2) Measure the distance between the uplock assy (12) and the structure fork end.
(3) Use adjustment AIPC 32-31-01-07-050 WASHERS (7) and/or AIPC 32-31-01-07-060 WASHERS (7) get the clearance J = 0.13 mm (0.0051 in.) to 0.20 mm (0.0079 in.).
(4) Remove the screws (28) and (29) and remove the uplock assy (12).
(5) Put the uplock assy (12) in position with the adjustment washers (7). Install the screws (28) and (29).
(6) Install the washers (1) and (6) and the nuts (2) and (5).
(7) TORQUE the nuts (2) to between 1.6 and 1.4 m.daN (11.80 and 10.32 lbf.ft )
and (5) and safety them with the AIPC 32-31-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (3) and the AIPC 32-31-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (4). (8) Install the lever (16) on the uplock (12).
(9) Install the screw (17), the washer (15) and the nut (14). TORQUE the nut (14) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )
and safety it with the new AIPC 32-33-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (13). B. Installation of the NLG Uplock Assy
(1) Put the uplock assy (12) in position on the support (7) and install the screws (28) and (29).
(2) Install the washers (1) and (6) and the nuts (2) and (5).
(3) Tighten the nuts (2) and (5) and safety them with the new AIPC 32-31-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (3) or AIPC 32-31-81-07-010 COTTER PIN (3) and the new AIPC 32-31-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (4) or AIPC 32-31-81-07-010 COTTER PIN (4).
(4) Make sure that the clearance J between the washers (1), (6) and the support (7) is more than or equal to 0.20 mm (0.0079 in.).
(5) Install the lever (16) on the uplock (12).
(6) Install the screw (17), the washer (15) and the nut (14).
(7) Tighten the nut (14) and safety it with the new AIPC 32-33-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (13).
Subtask 32-31-21-420-052-A (1) Put the uplock assy (12) in position on the support (7) and install the screws (28) and (29).
(2) Install the washers (1) and (6) and the nuts (2) and (5).
(3) Tighten the nuts (2) and (5) and safety them with the new AIPC 32-31-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (3) or AIPC 32-31-81-07-010 COTTER PIN (3) and the new AIPC 32-31-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (4) or AIPC 32-31-81-07-010 COTTER PIN (4).
(4) Make sure that the clearance J between the washers (1), (6) and the support (7) is more than or equal to 0.20 mm (0.0079 in.).
(5) Install the lever (16) on the uplock (12).
(6) Install the screw (17), the washer (15) and the nut (14).
(7) Tighten the nut (14) and safety it with the new AIPC 32-33-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (13).
C. Connection of the Rod
(1) Install the 98A32301000000 RIGGING PIN (18) on the uplock assy (12).
(2) Install the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (19) on the bellcrank (24).
(3) Put the rod (23) in position on the lever (16). Make sure that you can install the screw (20).
(4) If you cannot install the screw (20), adjust the rod (23) as follows:
(a) Remove and discard the lockwire.
(b) Remove the nuts (21).
(c) Release the washers (22) and adjust the rod (23) length to make the screw (20) installation easier.
(d) TORQUE the nuts (21) to between 0.649 and 0.531 m.daN (57.43 and 46.99 lbf.in )

(e) Safety the nuts (21) with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia. 0.8 mm (0.03in).
(f) Put the rod (23) in position and install the screw (20).
(5) Install the washer (25) and the nut (26).
(6) TORQUE the nut (26) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )

(7) Safety it with the new AIPC 32-33-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (27).
(8) Remove the blanking caps and install the hydraulic lines (10) and (11).
(9) TORQUE the hydraulic lines (10) and (11) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )

(10) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(11) Remove the blanking plugs and connect the electrical connectors (8) and (9).
(12) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (19) and 98A32301000000 RIGGING PIN (18).
(13) Apply a light coat of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) in zones E.
Subtask 32-31-21-865-053-A (1) Install the 98A32301000000 RIGGING PIN (18) on the uplock assy (12).
(2) Install the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (19) on the bellcrank (24).
(3) Put the rod (23) in position on the lever (16). Make sure that you can install the screw (20).
(4) If you cannot install the screw (20), adjust the rod (23) as follows:

. (7) Safety it with the new AIPC 32-33-01-07-010 COTTER PIN (27).
(8) Remove the blanking caps and install the hydraulic lines (10) and (11).
(9) TORQUE the hydraulic lines (10) and (11) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
. (10) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(11) Remove the blanking plugs and connect the electrical connectors (8) and (9).
(12) Remove the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL (19) and 98A32301000000 RIGGING PIN (18).
(13) Apply a light coat of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) in zones E.
D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

E. After you close the LGCIU circuit breakers, put the aircraft back to the correct (ground) condition (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-002).
Subtask 32-31-21-941-053-A F. Preparation for the Test
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the container below the NLG uplock assy (2530GM).
(3) Make sure that the NLG uplock assy (2530GM) is in the OPEN configuration.
(4) Make sure that the travel range of the landing gear is clean.
(5) Remove the access platform below the NLG uplock assy (2530GM).
(6) Close the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
(7) Do five full retraction and extension cycles of the nose landing gear at low speed to bleed the system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-30-00-867-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-30-00-867-002).
(a) Make sure that each retraction and extension cycle is of more than 30 seconds.
Subtask 32-31-21-720-050-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the container below the NLG uplock assy (2530GM).
(3) Make sure that the NLG uplock assy (2530GM) is in the OPEN configuration.
(4) Make sure that the travel range of the landing gear is clean.
(5) Remove the access platform below the NLG uplock assy (2530GM).
(6) Close the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
(7) Do five full retraction and extension cycles of the nose landing gear at low speed to bleed the system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-30-00-867-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-30-00-867-002).
(a) Make sure that each retraction and extension cycle is of more than 30 seconds.
G. Functional Test
(1) Do the functional test of the NLG normal extension and retraction (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-720-003).
(2) Do one of the two steps that follow:
(a) Do the functional check of the free-fall system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-720-001).
(b) Do the functional test of the NLG free-fall extension (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-720-004).
(3) Open the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the NLG uplock assy (12).
(5) Make sure that there are no leaks on the disconnected line ends.
(6) If necessary, fill the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
5. Close-up(1) Do the functional test of the NLG normal extension and retraction (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-720-003).
(2) Do one of the two steps that follow:
(a) Do the functional check of the free-fall system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-720-001).
(b) Do the functional test of the NLG free-fall extension (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-720-004).
(3) Open the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the NLG uplock assy (12).
(5) Make sure that there are no leaks on the disconnected line ends.
(6) If necessary, fill the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

A. Close Access
(1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(4) Close the doors of the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
