A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the PTU isolation coupling is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002)
   (3) Make sure that the flight configuration precautions were obeyed (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001).
   (4) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (5) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

C. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • On panel 40VU in the cockpit
  • On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.

D. Preparation for Installation
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN YOU USE HYDRAULIC FLUID. HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE SKIN IRRITATION.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (5) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new:
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-31-17-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Safety Valve
   (1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (2) Install the new back-up rings (3) and (15) and the new packings (2) and (16) on the bobbins (4) and (14).
   (3) If the bobbins (4) and (14) were removed from the safety valve (7):
   (4) If necessary, install the bobbins (4) and (14) in the safety valve (7).
   (5) Put the safety valve (7) in position on the manifold (1) and install the washers (9) and the bolts (10).
   (6) TORQUE the bolts (10) to between 1.4 and 1.2 m.daN (123.89 and 106.19 lbf.in ) T.
   (7) Install the bonding strap (19) to the safety valve (7):
  • Put the bonding strap (19) in position on the bonding bracket (20) and install the washer (18), the bolt (17) and the nut (21).
   (8) Make a mark on the bolts (10) and (17) with Varnish Polyurethane-- Marking Structure (Material No.
04SAB2) .
   (9) Do a bonding check and protect the bonding strap (19) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (10) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
   (11) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (12) Connect the electrical connector (8) to the safety valve (7).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
   (2) If the flight configuration precautions were obeyed, put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-002).
   (3) Remove the container.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (6) Close the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (7) If necessary fill the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

D. Operational Test
   (1) Do the applicable test of the Safety Valve 49GA (7).
     (a) Do the operational check of the safety valve (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-710-013) if:
  • The cause of removal is a hydraulic leak of the safety valve (7).
     (b) Do the operational check to ensure the safety-valve closes at 260 kts (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-710-005) if:
  • The cause of removal is not only a hydraulic leak of the safety valve (7).
   (2) Open the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (3) Make sure that there is no hydraulic fluid leakage from the safety-valve (7).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Apply corrosion preventive compound to the heads of the bolts (10) and (17) and the adjacent area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Close the right MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
