3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-31-15-860-051-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001)
   (2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) In the cockpit, on the panel 400VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control lever.
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • on the panel 40VU in the cockpit,
  • on the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system, access door (197CB).
   (5) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
   (6) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the NLG door ground opening bypass valve (2533GM).
   (7) Make sure that the doors of the nose landing gear are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-31-15-110-050-A
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the mating surfaces and the junction components with ACETONE (Material No. 11-583). Dry them with dry, filtered compressed air.
   (2) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) to the nuts and bolts, specially the bolt (21).

C. Connection of the Rod
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE NLG DOWNLOCK SAFETY PIN AND THE TWO DOOR SAFETY PINS ARE INSTALLED.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration (
Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Do a check of the position of the bypass valve.
     (a) If the valve is in the by-pass position:
       1 Put the rod (17) in position and install the bolt (22).
       2 Install the washer (25) and nut (26).
       3 TORQUE the nut (26) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in ) T.
       4 Safety the nut (26) with the new
AIPC 32-31-01-09-010 COTTER PIN (27) or AIPC 32-31-81-09-010 COTTER PIN (27).
       5 Remove the
98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR.
       6 Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items, then go to a safe area.
       7 Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
       8 Pressurize the reservoirs of the hydraulic systems.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
       9 Close the NLG doors with the ground door-opening handle (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
       10 Open the NLG doors with the ground door-opening handle (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
       11 Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
       12 Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
       13 Install the 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR.
       14 Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
       15 Pressurize the reservoirs of the hydraulic systems.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
       16 Put the ground door-opening handle in the closed position and put the safety pin in position.
       17 Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
       18 Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
       19 Install the RIGGING PIN (21) on the selector valve (7).
NOTE: You can only move the selector valve (7) from the DOORS OPEN position to the DOORS CLOSED position if the Green hydraulic system is pressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
       20 Cut and remove the lockwire from the rod (17).
       21 Loosen the nuts (15) and release the washers (16).
       22 Adjust the length of the rod (17).
       23 TORQUE the nuts (15) to between 0.649 and 0.531 m.daN (57.43 and 46.99 lbf.in ) T.
       24 Safety the nuts (15) with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia. 0.8 mm (0.03 in).
       25 Remove the
98A32301013000 RIGGING PIN (21).
       26 Go to Para D. Preparation for the test.
     (b) If the valve is in the normal position:
       1 Install the 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR.
       2 Put the ground door-opening control handle in the closed position and put the safety pin in position.
       3 Install the 98A32301013000 RIGGING PIN (21) on the selector valve (7).
NOTE: You can only move the selector valve (7) from the DOORS OPEN position to the DOORS CLOSED position if the Green hydraulic system is pressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001)
       4 Cut and remove the lockwire from the rod (17).
       5 Loosen the nuts (15) and release the washers (16).
       6 Install the bolt (22). To do this, adjust the length of the rod (17).
       7 TORQUE the nuts (15) to between 0.649 and 0.531 m.daN (57.43 and 46.99 lbf.in ) T.
       8 Safety the nuts (15) with lockwire corrosion resistant steel dia. 0.8 mm (0.03 in).
       9 Put the rod (17) in position and install the bolt (22).
       10 Install the washer (25) and nut (26).
       11 TORQUE the nut (26) to between 0.8 and 0.7 m.daN (70.80 and 61.95 lbf.in )
T.
       12 Safety the nut (26) with the new
AIPC 32-31-01-09-010 COTTER PIN (27) or AIPC 32-31-81-09-010 COTTER PIN (27).
       13 Remove the
98A32301013000 RIGGING PIN (21).
       14 Go to Para D. Preparation for the test.
Subtask 32-31-15-941-052-A
D. Preparation for the Test
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the safety pin from the door ground-opening handle.
   (3) Put the door ground-opening handle in the OPEN position.
   (4) Install the safety pin on the handle.
   (5) Remove the container below the NLG door ground opening bypass valve (2533GM).
   (6) Remove the 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR.
   (7) Make sure that the travel ranges of the NLG doors are clear.
   (8) Remove the access platform(s).

E. Operational Test
   (1) Do an operational test of the applicable NLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-710-002).
NOTE: The operational test is only for the NLG doors opening bypass-valve that you installed or on which you did maintenance. The operational test on all the doors is optional.
Subtask 32-31-15-720-050-A
F. Functional Test
   (1) Do 5 full DOOR CLOSE/DOOR OPEN cycles (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
   (2) Make sure that there are no anomalies during these operations.
   (3) Open the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
   (4) Put the access platform in position below the NLG door ground opening bypass valve (2533GM).
   (5) Make sure that there are no leaks from the disconnected line ends.
   (6) If necessary fill the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system to the correct level (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).

A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Close the doors of the nose landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
