Replacement of the MLG Door Ground-Opening Bypass-Valve Cap Screws

1. Reason for the JobThis task must only be used for the replacement of cap screws that are in the correct condition.
If the MLG Bypass-Valve has a hydraulic leak, or one or more of the cap screws are damaged, the valve must be:
- Removed, inspected and repaired or replaced.
This task is only applicable to MLG Bypass-Valves that have part numbers: - 114087001, 114087002, 114087003, 114087004, 114087005, 114087006, 114087007 and 114087008.

Subtask 32-31-13-941-055-A
A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
Subtask 32-31-13-010-053-A (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
B. Get Access
(1) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that a 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating cylinder (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below the applicable MLG door bypass-valve:
(a) FOR [2517GM] (BYPASS VALVE-MLG DOOR GROUND OPENING, L)
below zone 731.
(b) FOR [2518GM] (BYPASS VALVE-MLG DOOR GROUND OPENING, R)
below zone 741.
(4) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the applicable MLG door bypass-valve.
Subtask 32-31-13-860-060-A (1) Open the applicable MLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that a 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuating cylinder (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below the applicable MLG door bypass-valve:
(a) FOR [2517GM] (BYPASS VALVE-MLG DOOR GROUND OPENING, L)
below zone 731.
(b) FOR [2518GM] (BYPASS VALVE-MLG DOOR GROUND OPENING, R)
below zone 741.
(4) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the applicable MLG door bypass-valve.
C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
Subtask 32-31-13-960-052-A
A. Preparation for the replacement of the Cap Screws (1)
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Examine the applicable MLG bypass-valve:
(a) If there is leakage, or one or more of the cap screws (1) are damaged, replace the valve (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-13-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-13-400-001).
Subtask 32-31-13-960-050-A (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Examine the applicable MLG bypass-valve:
(a) If there is leakage, or one or more of the cap screws (1) are damaged, replace the valve (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-13-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-13-400-001).
B. Replacement of the L/H MLG Door Ground-Opening Bypass-Valve Cap Screws
(3) Remove one cap screw (1):
(b) Remove the cap screw (1).
(4) Install the new AIPC 32-31-13-01-010 CAP SCREW (1).
(5) TORQUE the cap screw (1):
(a) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087001, 114087002, 114087003, 114087004 or 114087005:
(b) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087001, 114087002, 114087003 or 114087004 identified with SB526:
(c) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087006, 114087007 or 114087008:
(6) Do steps (3) thru (5) one cap screw (1) at a time, for the other three cap screws (1).
(7) Safety the cap screws (1) in pairs with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(8) If it is necessary to install the MLG door bypass-valve lever arm, refer to: (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-13-400-001).
Subtask 32-31-13-960-051-A WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Wait a minimum of 20 minutes before you do the steps that follow. NOTE: This is to let the remaining hydraulic pressure in the MLG bypass-valve and the door ground-opening system to decrease.
(2) If it is necessary to remove the MLG door bypass-valve lever arm to get access to the cap screws (1), refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-13-000-001). (3) Remove one cap screw (1):
NOTE: You must not remove and replace more than one cap screw (1) at a time.
(a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the cap screw (1). (b) Remove the cap screw (1).
(4) Install the new AIPC 32-31-13-01-010 CAP SCREW (1).
(5) TORQUE the cap screw (1):
(a) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087001, 114087002, 114087003, 114087004 or 114087005:
(b) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087001, 114087002, 114087003 or 114087004 identified with SB526:
(c) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087006, 114087007 or 114087008:
(6) Do steps (3) thru (5) one cap screw (1) at a time, for the other three cap screws (1).
(7) Safety the cap screws (1) in pairs with
(8) If it is necessary to install the MLG door bypass-valve lever arm, refer to: (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-13-400-001).
C. Replacement of the R/H MLG Door Ground-Opening Bypass-Valve Cap Screws
(2) Remove one cap screw (1):
(b) Remove the cap screw (1).
(3) Install the new AIPC 32-31-13-01-010 CAP SCREW (1).
(4) TORQUE the cap screw (1):
(a) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087001, 114087002, 114087003, 114087004 or 114087005:
(b) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087001, 114087002, 114087003 or 114087004 identified with SB526:
(c) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087006, 114087007 or 114087008:
(5) Do steps (2) thru (4) one cap screw (1) at a time for the other three cap screws (1).
(6) Safety the cap screws (1) in pairs with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(7) Install the MLG door bypass-valve (2518GM), refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-13-400-001).
Subtask 32-31-13-860-061-A WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove the MLG door bypass-valve (2518GM), refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-13-000-001). (2) Remove one cap screw (1):
NOTE: You must not remove and replace more than one cap screw (1) at a time.
(a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the cap screw (1). (b) Remove the cap screw (1).
(3) Install the new AIPC 32-31-13-01-010 CAP SCREW (1).
(4) TORQUE the cap screw (1):
(a) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087001, 114087002, 114087003, 114087004 or 114087005:
(b) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087001, 114087002, 114087003 or 114087004 identified with SB526:
(c) For the MLG door bypass-valve part numbers 114087006, 114087007 or 114087008:
(5) Do steps (2) thru (4) one cap screw (1) at a time for the other three cap screws (1).
(6) Safety the cap screws (1) in pairs with
(7) Install the MLG door bypass-valve (2518GM), refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-13-400-001).
D. Preparation for Test
(1) Pressurize the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
Subtask 32-31-13-710-053-A (1) Pressurize the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
E. Test
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Do a full DOOR OPEN/DOOR CLOSE cycle five times (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(4) Make sure that there is no leakage of hydraulic fluid from the MLG door bypass-valve.
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR DOORS ARE CLEAR.
(2) Do an operational test of the Landing Gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-710-002). (3) Do a full DOOR OPEN/DOOR CLOSE cycle five times (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(4) Make sure that there is no leakage of hydraulic fluid from the MLG door bypass-valve.
Subtask 32-31-13-860-062-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Connect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
(3) Close the main gear door(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
Subtask 32-31-13-942-053-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

(1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
