Installation of the MLG Door Ground-Opening Bypass-Valve

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:

(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On the panel 400VU:
- make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below applicable zone 147(148).
(2) Make sure that the applicable MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuator.
(4) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(6) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below applicable zone 147(148).
(2) Make sure that the applicable MLG door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuator.
(4) Make sure that the Yellow and Green hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(6) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
Subtask 32-31-13-560-050-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
(2) Remove the protective sleeves from the splines of the shaft (21) of the replacement bypass-valve (6).
(3) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the items that follow:
(a) Install the bypass lever (9) with the bolt (8), the washer (20) and the nut (18).
(b) Install the bypass lever (25) with the bolt (24), the washer (26) and the nut (27).
(5) Safety the nut (18) with the new AIPC 32-31-03-46-170 COTTER PIN (19) or AIPC 32-31-83-42-010 COTTER PIN (19).
(6) Safety the nut (27) with the new AIPC 32-31-03-46-070 COTTER PIN (29) or AIPC 32-31-83-42-010 COTTER PIN (29).
(7) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the nuts (18) and (27) and the ends of the bolts (8) and (24).
(8) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) or Grease-Hydraulic Systems - - (Material No.03LDA1) to the new AIPC 32-31-03-46-110 PACKINGS (2) or AIPC 32-31-83-42-190 PACKINGS (2).
(9) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the unions (3).
(10) Install the packings (2) on the unions (3).
(11) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the bypass-valve (6) and install the unions (3).
(12) TORQUE the unions (3) to between 1.87 and 1.76 m.daN (13.79 and 12.98 lbf.ft )

(13) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
Subtask 32-31-13-560-050-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.(2) Remove the protective sleeves from the splines of the shaft (21) of the replacement bypass-valve (6).
(3) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the items that follow:
- The splines of the shaft (21) of the replacement bypass-valve (6)
- The splines of the bypass levers (9) and (25)
- The bolts (8) and (24)
- The washers (20) and (26)
- The nuts (18) and (27).
(a) Install the bypass lever (9) with the bolt (8), the washer (20) and the nut (18).
(b) Install the bypass lever (25) with the bolt (24), the washer (26) and the nut (27).
(5) Safety the nut (18) with the new AIPC 32-31-03-46-170 COTTER PIN (19) or AIPC 32-31-83-42-010 COTTER PIN (19).
(6) Safety the nut (27) with the new AIPC 32-31-03-46-070 COTTER PIN (29) or AIPC 32-31-83-42-010 COTTER PIN (29).
(7) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the nuts (18) and (27) and the ends of the bolts (8) and (24).
(8) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) or Grease-Hydraulic Systems - - (Material No.03LDA1) to the new AIPC 32-31-03-46-110 PACKINGS (2) or AIPC 32-31-83-42-190 PACKINGS (2).
(9) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the unions (3).
(10) Install the packings (2) on the unions (3).
(11) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the bypass-valve (6) and install the unions (3).
(12) TORQUE the unions (3) to between 1.87 and 1.76 m.daN (13.79 and 12.98 lbf.ft )

(9) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the unions (3).
(10) Install the packings (2) on the unions (3).
(11) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the bypass-valve (6) and install the unions (3).
(12) TORQUE the unions (3) to between 1.75 and 1.63 m.daN (12.91 and 12.02 lbf.ft )

(13) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line

(b) Install the bypass lever (25) with the bolt (24), the washer (26) and the nut (27).
(5) Safety the nut (18) with the new AIPC 32-31-03-46-170 COTTER PIN (19) or AIPC 32-31-83-42-010 COTTER PIN (19).
(6) Safety the nut (27) with the new AIPC 32-31-03-46-070 COTTER PIN (29) or AIPC 32-31-83-42-010 COTTER PIN (29).
(7) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the nuts (18) and (27) and the ends of the bolts (8) and (24).
(8) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) or Grease-Hydraulic Systems - - (Material No.03LDA1) to the new AIPC 32-31-03-46-110 PACKINGS (2) or AIPC 32-31-83-42-190 PACKINGS (2).
(9) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the unions (3).
(10) Install the packings (2) on the unions (3).
(11) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the bypass-valve (6) and install the unions (3).
(12) TORQUE the unions (3) to between 1.75 and 1.63 m.daN (12.91 and 12.02 lbf.ft )
.(13) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
B. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
Subtask 32-31-13-420-050-B (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
C. Installation of the MLG Door Ground-Opening Bypass-Valve
(1) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the bolts (7) and the nuts (28).
(2) Put the bypass-valve (6) in position and install it with the bolts (7) and the nuts (28).
(3) Connect the end-fittings of the hydraulic pipe lines to the bypass-valve (6) as follows:
(a) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(b) FOR [2517GM] (BYPASS VALVE-MLG DOOR GROUND OPENING, L)
1 Connect the end-fittings (4), (5) and (22) to the unions (3).
2 TORQUE the end fittings (4), (5) and (22) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )

(c) FOR [2518GM] (BYPASS VALVE-MLG DOOR GROUND OPENING, R)
1 Connect the end-fittings (4), (5) and (23) to the unions (3).
2 TORQUE the end fittings (4), (5) and (23) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )

(d) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
Subtask 32-31-13-820-050-A (1) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the bolts (7) and the nuts (28).
(2) Put the bypass-valve (6) in position and install it with the bolts (7) and the nuts (28).
(3) Connect the end-fittings of the hydraulic pipe lines to the bypass-valve (6) as follows:
(a) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(b) FOR [2517GM] (BYPASS VALVE-MLG DOOR GROUND OPENING, L)
1 Connect the end-fittings (4), (5) and (22) to the unions (3).
2 TORQUE the end fittings (4), (5) and (22) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. (c) FOR [2518GM] (BYPASS VALVE-MLG DOOR GROUND OPENING, R)
1 Connect the end-fittings (4), (5) and (23) to the unions (3).
2 TORQUE the end fittings (4), (5) and (23) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
.(d) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
NOTE: The bypass lever (9) to the control rod (14) and the bypass lever (25) to the flexible control assembly (1) will be connected during Para. 4.D.
D. Adjustment of the Door Ground-Opening System
(1) Do the rigging and complete the installation of the MLG door ground-opening system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-820-001).
Subtask 32-31-13-860-054-A (1) Do the rigging and complete the installation of the MLG door ground-opening system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-820-001).
E. Preparation for Test
(1) Pressurize the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
Subtask 32-31-13-710-050-A (1) Pressurize the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
F. Test
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Do a full DOOR OPEN/DOOR CLOSE cycle five times (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(4) Make sure that there is no leakage of hydraulic fluid from the MLG door bypass-valve.
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR DOORS ARE CLEAR.
(2) Do an operational test of the Landing Gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-00-710-002). (3) Do a full DOOR OPEN/DOOR CLOSE cycle five times (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
(4) Make sure that there is no leakage of hydraulic fluid from the MLG door bypass-valve.

A. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
