   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits with a GROUND POWER UNIT - ELECTRICAL (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002). You must not use the APU to do this.
   (2) Get access to the System Report/Test/L/G page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-009).
   (3) Get access to the Ground Scanning and Trouble Shooting Data pages as follows:
ACTION
RESULT
  • Push the line key adjacent to the LGCIU1 indication.
  • The LGCIU1 page comes into view.

  • Push the line key adjacent to the GROUND SCANNING indication.
  • The LGCIU1 GROUND SCANNING page comes into view.

  • Push the line key adjacent to the PRINT indication.

  • Push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication.
  • The LGCIU1 page comes into view.

  • Push the line key adjacent to the TROUBLE SHOOTING DATA indication.
  • The LGCIU1 TROUBLE SHOOTING DATA page comes into view.

  • Push the line key adjacent to the PRINT indication.

   (4) If the message LGCIU 05GA1(2)/L/G SEL VALVE 40GA is shown, you must record the fault counter CNT on the TROUBLE SHOOTING DATA page.
   (5) Do steps (2) thru (4) again for LGCIU2.
Subtask 32-31-00-710-066-B
B. Operational Check of the L/G Selector Valve 40GA
NOTE: The hydraulic power must be depressurized before you do this test (view the ECAM HYDRAULIC page).
   (1) Do this test:
ACTION
RESULT
1.Open the circuit breakers 2GA and 59GA.
The LGCIU2 is set to off.
2.Push the WHEEL pushbutton switch.
The WHEEL page indications from LGCIU1 are shown.

3.Use the ECAM WHEEL page to make sure that the landing gear doors are fully open.

4.On panel 400VU:
  • Set the landing-gear control lever 6GA to the UP position.
This shows the false targets have caused the LGCIU1 to release the selector lever baulk solenoid.

5.On panel 400VU:
  • Set the landing-gear control lever 6GA to the DOWN position.

6.Open the circuit breakers 1GA, 52GA and 58GA.

The LGCIU1 is set to off.
7.Close the circuit breakers 2GA and 59GA.
- The LGCIU2 is set to on
- The WHEEL page indications now come from LGCIU2.

8.Use the ECAM WHEEL page to make sure that the landing gear doors are fully open.

9.On panel 400VU:
  • Set the landing-gear control lever 6GA to the UP position.
This shows the false targets have caused the LGCIU2 to release the selector lever baulk solenoid.

10.On panel 400VU:
  • Move the landing-gear control lever 6GA to the DOWN position.
At this time LGCIU2 is in control.

11.Close the circuit breakers 1GA, 52GA and 58GA.
