Inspection of the NLG Leg-Door Assembly and the Seals of the NLG Main and Aft Doors
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

NLG Leg-Door AssemblySubtask 32-22-00-941-053-A
A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the ground safety locks are in position on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(2) On right center instrument-panel 400VU:
Subtask 32-22-00-010-055-A (1) Make sure that the ground safety locks are in position on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(2) On right center instrument-panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear normal control-lever is in the DOWN position.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to use this lever.
- Make sure that the free-fall control handle is in the normal position.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems.
B. Get Access
(2) Install the 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR through the rigging holes of the left and right NLG doors in each NLG door hinge.
4. ProcedureWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR DOORS ARE CLEAR.
(1) Open the NLG main doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001). (2) Install the 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR through the rigging holes of the left and right NLG doors in each NLG door hinge.

A. Check of the Play of the NLG Leg-Door Assembly
(1) Do a check of the NLG leg door to find the damaged attachment point as follows:
(a) Push the NLG leg door manually many times in different directions to find:
1 Install the GAGE - DIAL INDICATOR on its support.
2 Put the pointer of the GAGE - DIAL INDICATOR at the nearest location of the related attachment point.
(b) Set the GAGE - DIAL INDICATOR to zero.
(c) Smoothly push the NLG leg door and make sure that you read and record the play.
(d) Make sure that the play is less than 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(e) Remove the GAGE - DIAL INDICATOR, its support and the CLAMP - SPRING, SOFT GRIPS from the NLG leg fitting.
Subtask 32-22-00-210-055-A (1) Do a check of the NLG leg door to find the damaged attachment point as follows:
(a) Push the NLG leg door manually many times in different directions to find:
- The damaged attachment point (damaged hole)
- The direction of the play.
NOTE: To measure the play between the NLG leg fitting and the NLG leg door, it is necessary to use the GAGE - DIAL INDICATOR together with a support.
(a) Install the support of the GAGE - DIAL INDICATOR on the NLG leg fitting (fixed reference) with the CLAMP - SPRING, SOFT GRIPS. 1 Install the GAGE - DIAL INDICATOR on its support.
2 Put the pointer of the GAGE - DIAL INDICATOR at the nearest location of the related attachment point.
(b) Set the GAGE - DIAL INDICATOR to zero.
(c) Smoothly push the NLG leg door and make sure that you read and record the play.
(d) Make sure that the play is less than 0.8 mm (0.03 in.).
(e) Remove the GAGE - DIAL INDICATOR, its support and the CLAMP - SPRING, SOFT GRIPS from the NLG leg fitting.
B. Inspection of the Edges and Seals of the NLG Leg Door, Main NLG Doors and Aft NLG Doors
(1) Do a visual inspection of the NLG doors edges and seals and make sure that there is no damage (chaffing, scratches, cracks or other damage).

C. Inspection of the NLG Leg-Door Attachments
(1) Do a visual inspection of the NLG leg-door attachments for cracks, corrosion, wear and fasteners condition.
(2) Make sure that the attachments are correctly tightened.
5. Close-up(1) Do a visual inspection of the NLG leg-door attachments for cracks, corrosion, wear and fasteners condition.
(2) Make sure that the attachments are correctly tightened.
Subtask 32-22-00-942-053-A
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(3) Remove the 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR from each NLG door hinge.
(4) Close the NLG main doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(3) Remove the 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR from each NLG door hinge.
(4) Close the NLG main doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-410-001).
(5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
