A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) is in position.
(2) On panel 400VU:
Subtask 32-12-14-860-053-A (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) is in position.
(2) On panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever is in the DOWN position
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear controls.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the safety device is installed on the applicable MLG lockstay actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below the applicable zone 733(743).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the safety device is installed on the applicable MLG lockstay actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position below the applicable zone 733(743).
Subtask 32-12-14-420-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation For Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Make sure that the sealant around the lock nuts (2) and (10) is satisfactory.
(a) If the sealant is not satisfactory, install a replacement MLG fixed-fairing assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-14-400-002).
(5) Make sure that the MLG fixed-fairing assembly (1) is in a serviceable condition.

B. Installation of the MLG Fixed Fairing Assembly
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(4) At position C, install the bush (15), the bolt (18), the washer (14) and the nut (13).
(5) At position F:
(a) Install the bush (17), the bolt (18), the washer (14) and the nut (13).
(c) Make sure that dimensions Y and Z are between 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) and 2.7 mm (0.1063 in.).
(6) At positions B, D and E, install the bushes (6), the bolts (7), the washers (5) and the nuts (3).
(7) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 1.35 and 1.15 m.daN (119.47 and 101.77 lbf.in )

(8) Safety the nuts (3) with the new AIPC 52-81-13-01-010 COTTER PINS (4).
(9) At position F:
(a) Remove the 98D32104083000 SPACER, RIGGING from the bolt (18).
(b) Make sure that dimensions Y and Z are between 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) and 2.7 mm (0.1063 in.).
(c) TORQUE the nut (13) to between 1.35 and 1.15 m.daN (119.47 and 101.77 lbf.in )

(d) Safety the nut (13) with the new AIPC 32-11-11-80-010 COTTER PIN (11).
(10) At position C:
(a) TORQUE the nut (13) to between 2.00 and 1.80 m.daN (14.75 and 13.27 lbf.ft )
.
(b) Safety the nut (13) with the new AIPC 32-11-11-80-045 COTTER PIN (12).
(11) Install the bonding strap (8) and the nut (9) on the screw (21).
(12) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(13) Hold the head of the screw (21) and TORQUE the nut (9) to between 0.45 and 0.35 m.daN (39.82 and 30.97 lbf.in )

(14) Install the cover plate (20) with the screws (19).
(15) TORQUE the screws (19) to between 0.23 and 0.17 m.daN (20.35 and 15.04 lbf.in )

USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) to: - The bolts (7) and (18)
- The nuts (3), (9) and (13)
- The screws (19)
- The cover plate (20).
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
WARNING:
THE WEIGHT OF THE FIXED FAIRING IS 34kg (75lb).
(3) Hold the fixed fairing (1) in position on the brackets of the MLG leg. (4) At position C, install the bush (15), the bolt (18), the washer (14) and the nut (13).
(5) At position F:
(a) Install the bush (17), the bolt (18), the washer (14) and the nut (13).
NOTE: For the RH MLG, the bush (17) and the bolt (18) are installed from the same direction.
(b) Install the 98D32104083000 SPACER, RIGGING on the bolt (18). (c) Make sure that dimensions Y and Z are between 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) and 2.7 mm (0.1063 in.).
(6) At positions B, D and E, install the bushes (6), the bolts (7), the washers (5) and the nuts (3).
(7) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 1.35 and 1.15 m.daN (119.47 and 101.77 lbf.in )
. (8) Safety the nuts (3) with the new AIPC 52-81-13-01-010 COTTER PINS (4).
(9) At position F:
(a) Remove the 98D32104083000 SPACER, RIGGING from the bolt (18).
(b) Make sure that dimensions Y and Z are between 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) and 2.7 mm (0.1063 in.).
(c) TORQUE the nut (13) to between 1.35 and 1.15 m.daN (119.47 and 101.77 lbf.in )
. (d) Safety the nut (13) with the new AIPC 32-11-11-80-010 COTTER PIN (11).
(10) At position C:
(a) TORQUE the nut (13) to between 2.00 and 1.80 m.daN (14.75 and 13.27 lbf.ft )
. (b) Safety the nut (13) with the new AIPC 32-11-11-80-045 COTTER PIN (12).
(11) Install the bonding strap (8) and the nut (9) on the screw (21).
(12) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(13) Hold the head of the screw (21) and TORQUE the nut (9) to between 0.45 and 0.35 m.daN (39.82 and 30.97 lbf.in )
. (14) Install the cover plate (20) with the screws (19).
(15) TORQUE the screws (19) to between 0.23 and 0.17 m.daN (20.35 and 15.04 lbf.in )
. B. Installation of the MLG Fixed Fairing Assembly
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(4) At position C, install the bush (16), the bolt (19), the washer (15) and the nut (14).
(5) At position F:
(a) Install the bush (18), the bolt (19), the washer (15) and the nut (14).
(c) Make sure that dimensions Y and Z are between 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) and 2.7 mm (0.1063 in.).
(6) At positions B, D and E, install the bushes (7), the bolts (8), the washers (6) and the nuts (4).
(7) TORQUE the nuts (4) to between 1.35 and 1.15 m.daN (119.47 and 101.77 lbf.in )

(8) Safety the nuts (4) with the new AIPC 52-81-13-01-010 COTTER PINS (5).
(9) At position F:
(a) Remove the 98D32104083000 SPACER, RIGGING from the bolt (19).
(b) Make sure that dimensions Y and Z are between 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) and 2.7 mm (0.1063 in.).
(c) TORQUE the nut (14) to between 1.35 and 1.15 m.daN (119.47 and 101.77 lbf.in )

(a) TORQUE the nut (14) to between 2.00 and 1.80 m.daN (14.75 and 13.27 lbf.ft )

(b) Safety the nut (14) with the new AIPC 32-11-11-80-045 COTTER PIN (13).
(11) Install the bonding strap (9) and the nut (10) on the screw (22).
(12) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)

(13) Hold the head of the screw (22) and TORQUE the nut (10) to between 0.45 and 0.35 m.daN (39.82 and 30.97 lbf.in )

(14) Install the cover plate (21) with the screws (20).
(15) TORQUE the screws (20) to between 0.23 and 0.17 m.daN (20.35 and 15.04 lbf.in )

(11) Install the bonding strap (9) and the nut (10) on the screw (22).
(12) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)

(13) Hold the head of the screw (22) and TORQUE the nut (10) to between 0.45 and 0.35 m.daN (39.82 and 30.97 lbf.in )

(15) TORQUE the screws (20) to between 0.23 and 0.17 m.daN (20.35 and 15.04 lbf.in )
. B. Installation of the MLG Fixed Fairing Assembly
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(4) At position C, install the bush (15), the bolt (18), the washer (14) and the nut (13).
(5) At position F:
(a) Install the bush (17), the bolt (18), the washer (14) and the nut (13).
(c) Make sure that dimensions Y and Z are between 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) and 2.7 mm (0.1063 in.).
(6) At positions B, D and E, install the bushes (6), the bolts (7), the washers (5) and the nuts (3).
(7) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 1.35 and 1.15 m.daN (119.47 and 101.77 lbf.in )

(8) Safety the nuts (3) with the new AIPC 52-81-13-01-010 COTTER PINS (4).

(c) TORQUE the nut (13) to between 1.35 and 1.15 m.daN (119.47 and 101.77 lbf.in )

(d) Safety the nut (13) with the new AIPC 32-11-11-80-010 COTTER PIN (11) or the new AIPC 32-11-85-80-010 COTTER PIN (11).
(10) At position C:
(a) TORQUE the nut (13) to between 2.00 and 1.80 m.daN (14.75 and 13.27 lbf.ft )

(11) Install the bonding strap (9) and the nut (10) on the screw (22).
(12) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)

(13) Hold the head of the screw (22) and TORQUE the nut (10) to between 0.45 and 0.35 m.daN (39.82 and 30.97 lbf.in )

USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) to: - The bolts (8) and (19)
- The nuts (4), (10) and (14)
- The screws (20)
- The cover plate (21).
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
WARNING:
THE WEIGHT OF THE FIXED FAIRING IS 34kg (75lb).
(3) Hold the fixed fairing (1) in position on the brackets of the MLG leg. (4) At position C, install the bush (16), the bolt (19), the washer (15) and the nut (14).
(5) At position F:
(a) Install the bush (18), the bolt (19), the washer (15) and the nut (14).
NOTE: For the RH MLG, the bush (18) and the bolt (19) are installed from the same direction.
(b) Install the 98D32104083000 SPACER, RIGGING on the bolt (19). (c) Make sure that dimensions Y and Z are between 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) and 2.7 mm (0.1063 in.).
(6) At positions B, D and E, install the bushes (7), the bolts (8), the washers (6) and the nuts (4).
(7) TORQUE the nuts (4) to between 1.35 and 1.15 m.daN (119.47 and 101.77 lbf.in )
. (8) Safety the nuts (4) with the new AIPC 52-81-13-01-010 COTTER PINS (5).
(9) At position F:
(a) Remove the 98D32104083000 SPACER, RIGGING from the bolt (19).
(b) Make sure that dimensions Y and Z are between 1.3 mm (0.0512 in.) and 2.7 mm (0.1063 in.).
(c) TORQUE the nut (14) to between 1.35 and 1.15 m.daN (119.47 and 101.77 lbf.in )
. (d) Safety the nut (14) with the new AIPC 32-11-11-80-010 COTTER PIN (12) or AIPC 32-11-85-80-010 COTTER PIN (12).
(10) At position C:
(a) TORQUE the nut (14) to between 2.00 and 1.80 m.daN (14.75 and 13.27 lbf.ft )
. (b) Safety the nut (14) with the new AIPC 32-11-11-80-045 COTTER PIN (13) or AIPC 32-11-85-80-045 COTTER PIN (13).
(11) Install the bonding strap (9) and the nut (10) on the screw (22).
(12) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(13) Hold the head of the screw (22) and TORQUE the nut (10) to between 0.45 and 0.35 m.daN (39.82 and 30.97 lbf.in )
. (14) Install the cover plate (21) with the screws (20).
(15) TORQUE the screws (20) to between 0.23 and 0.17 m.daN (20.35 and 15.04 lbf.in )

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
