A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the access door 824 in zone 128.
   (2) Make sure that the access door 824 is open.

Subtask 31-63-34-420-050-A
A. Installation of the DMC
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors (1).
   (4) Make sure that the electrical connectors (1) are in the correct condition.
   (5) Install the DMC (5) on its rack (2).
   (6) Push the DMC (5) on its rack (2) to connect the electrical connectors (1).
   (7) Engage the nuts (3) on the lugs (4) and tighten.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Check the P/N update
   (1) Do the procedure to get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST INST:DISPLAY page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-008)
NOTE: The actions and results of this procedure occur on the MCDU you use.
ACTION
RESULT
1. Push the line key adjacent to the EIS1 (2 or 3) indication
- the DMC1 (2 or 3) menu page comes into view
2. Push the line key adjacent to the LRU IDENT indication
- the LRU IDENTIFICATION page comes into view.
Make sure that the DMC - EIS SOFTWARE P/N shown on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page is the same as the computer P/N (given on the front face of the disks located in the disk stowage box). Make sure that the DMC - EIS SOFTWARE P/N shown on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page is the same as the other EIS components SOFTWARE P/N (the PFD CAPT, the ND CAPT, the EWD, the SD, the ND F/O, the PFD F/O, the other DMC's)
NOTE: If the SOFTWARE P/N is not the same, you must perform a XLOADING procedure (this is the case when another DMC is already loaded), or an uploading procedure (case when no DMC has been already loaded).

D. Perform the Xloading procedure
Whenever necessary, that is when the P/N needs to be updated perform the Xloading procedure of the DMC (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-610-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-610-004) or (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-610-005).

E. Do the operational test of the Electronic Instrument System (EIS) (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-710-001)

NOTE: (VALID FOR THE PFD AND ND)
If the A/C is operated in CAT3 conditions, you must also do the test: (Ref. AMM TASK 22-97-00-710-001).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access door 824. (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002)
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
