Installation of the Cockpit Area Microphone
CAUTION:
DURING THE INSTALLATION OF THE COCKPIT AREA MICROPHONE, MAKE SURE THAT THE PASSAGE HOLE IN THE LEFT FRONT LINING PANEL IS CONCENTRIC WITH THE MICROPHONE HEAD. THIS WILL MAKE SURE THAT THE MICROPHONE HEAD NEVER TOUCHES THE PANEL EDGES.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

A. Installation of the Cockpit Area Microphone
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Install the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) in the protective conduit and put the labels on the protective conduit as given in the ESPM 2032230 and ESPM 2032510 and ESPM 2033300.
(5) Install the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) on the connector (8).
(a) Connect the wires of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) to the connector (2380VCA) with the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT as given in the AWM 237103, ESPM 2056200 and ESPM 2044110.
(7) Make sure that the receptacle (9) is in the correct condition.
(8) Connect the connector (8) to the receptacle (9).
(9) Put the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) on its support (3).
(10) Install the washers (4) and the screws (1), and tighten the screws.
(11) Put the support (3) with the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) in position.
(12) Install the washers (13) and the screws (12), and tighten the screws (12).
(13) Make sure that the wire clamp (14) is in the correct condition. Replace the wire clamp (14) if necessary.
(14) Put the wire clamp (14) on the wire of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2).
(15) Put the wire clamp (14) in position and install the washers (6) and (7), and the screw (5).
(16) Tighten the screw (5).
(17) Put overhead control and indicator panel 25VU (11) in its housing.
(18) Tighten the QAD fasteners (10) by one quarter turn.
Subtask 31-39-13-865-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: On the base of the unit there is an attenuation switch. The default position of the attenuation switch is at 0 dB. It is not permitted to modify the user switch without Airbus approval.
NOTE: On the base of the unit there is a PEAK indicator. This indicator comes on when the microphone input level is more than 120 dB sound pressure level. It is not permitted to modify the user switch without Airbus approval.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Install the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) in the protective conduit and put the labels on the protective conduit as given in the ESPM 2032230 and ESPM 2032510 and ESPM 2033300.
(5) Install the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) on the connector (8).
(a) Connect the wires of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) to the connector (2380VCA) with the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT as given in the AWM 237103, ESPM 2056200 and ESPM 2044110.
NOTE: If there is a solder sleeve, you can install it with the ESPM 204221.
NOTE: To find the P/N of the connector, you can refer to the aircraft illustrated parts catalog of the electrical routing AIPC 24-92-01-.
(6) Remove the blanking cap from the receptacle (9). (7) Make sure that the receptacle (9) is in the correct condition.
(8) Connect the connector (8) to the receptacle (9).
(9) Put the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) on its support (3).
(10) Install the washers (4) and the screws (1), and tighten the screws.
(11) Put the support (3) with the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) in position.
(12) Install the washers (13) and the screws (12), and tighten the screws (12).
(13) Make sure that the wire clamp (14) is in the correct condition. Replace the wire clamp (14) if necessary.
(14) Put the wire clamp (14) on the wire of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2).
(15) Put the wire clamp (14) in position and install the washers (6) and (7), and the screw (5).
(16) Tighten the screw (5).
(17) Put overhead control and indicator panel 25VU (11) in its housing.
(18) Tighten the QAD fasteners (10) by one quarter turn.
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
