A. Removal of the CVR Microphone
(1) Loosen the QAD fasteners (10) by one quarter turn.
(2) Pull overhead control and indicator panel 25VU (11) from its housing.
(a) Do not disconnect the connectors.
(3) Loosen the screw (5) and remove the washers (6) and (7), and the wire clamp (14).
(4) Loosen the screws (12) and remove the washers (13).
(5) Remove the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) with its support (3).
(6) Loosen the screws (1) and remove the washers (4).
(7) Remove the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) from its support (3).
(8) Disconnect the connector (8) from the receptacle (9).
(9) Put CAP - BLANKING on the receptacle (9).
(10) Cut the tie wraps on the protective conduit of the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2).
(11) Remove the labels from the protective conduit.
(12) Keep the labels for the subsequent installation procedure.
(13) Remove the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) from the connector (8) as given in the ESPM 2044110.
(a) Remove the wires of the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) from the connector (8) with the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT as given in the ESPM 2056420 and ESPM 2044110.
(c) Keep the connector (8) and the protective conduit for the subsequent installation procedure.
(1) Loosen the QAD fasteners (10) by one quarter turn.
(2) Pull overhead control and indicator panel 25VU (11) from its housing.
(a) Do not disconnect the connectors.
(3) Loosen the screw (5) and remove the washers (6) and (7), and the wire clamp (14).
(4) Loosen the screws (12) and remove the washers (13).
(5) Remove the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) with its support (3).
(6) Loosen the screws (1) and remove the washers (4).
(7) Remove the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) from its support (3).
(8) Disconnect the connector (8) from the receptacle (9).
(9) Put CAP - BLANKING on the receptacle (9).
(10) Cut the tie wraps on the protective conduit of the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2).
(11) Remove the labels from the protective conduit.
(12) Keep the labels for the subsequent installation procedure.
(13) Remove the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) from the connector (8) as given in the ESPM 2044110.
(a) Remove the wires of the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2) from the connector (8) with the EXTRACTION TOOL - INSERT as given in the ESPM 2056420 and ESPM 2044110.
NOTE: If there is a solder sleeve, you can remove it with the ESPM 2042210.
NOTE: To find the P/N of the connector, you can refer to the Aircraft Illustrated Parts Catalog (AIPC) of the electrical routing (24-92-01).
(b) Remove the protective conduit from the cable of the Cockpit Area Microphone (2). (c) Keep the connector (8) and the protective conduit for the subsequent installation procedure.
