A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Prepare the media disk(s).
(1) Get the media disk(s) from the storage box in the cockpit.
(2) Make sure that the Part Number (P/N) written on the media disk(s) is the same as the P/N written in the Airline Configuration Management Document.
(a) If the media disk(s) is(are) not available or not the correct one(s), contact your airline engineering department to get the correct part number(s) applicable to the aircraft.

C. Installation of the Portable Data Loader (PDL)
(1) On the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER , make sure that the ON/OFF button switch is in the OFF position.
(2) On the overhead panel, on FMS LOAD panel 52VU, loosen the two middle quick-release fasteners of the access cover and remove it.
(3) Connect the PDL cable to the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and to the data loader connector (2TD).

C. Installation of the Portable Data Loader (PDL)
(1) On the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER , make sure that the ON/OFF button switch is in the OFF position.
(2) On center pedestal 11VU, on DATA LOADING panel 117VU, loosen the two middle quick-release fasteners of the access cover and remove it.
(3) Connect the PDL cable to the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and to the data loader connector (2147VC).

G. Check of the Database Software Number before the Uploading into the Data Loading Routing Box (DLRB)

ACTION	RESULT
1.On the overhead panel, on the Data Loading Selector (DLS): Set the ON/OFF switch to ON.	On the overhead panel, on the display of the DLS, the indication that follows comes into view: DB/N:XXXXXXXXX PUSH NEXT/PREV NOTE: The XXXXXXXXXX indication is the existing database software P/N installed in the DLS. Default value: '----------'.

(1) Make sure that the database software number given on the DLS display is different from the database software number written on the media disk(s).

4. Procedure
Subtask 31-38-00-970-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Uploading of the LRU software with the Multipurpose Disk Drive Unit (MDDU)

ACTION	RESULT
On center pedestal 11VU, on the MDDU: Open the floppy-disk access door.	On the MDDU: Make sure that the < < MDDU READY > > indication is shown.
1.On the overhead panel, on the DLS: Push the PREV or NEXT key until you get the "DLRB" indication.	On the display of the DLS, the indication that follows comes into view: DLRB NOT SELECTED.
2.On center pedestal 11VU: Put the media disk(s) into the media disk drive of the MDDU, the label in the forward direction.	On the MDDU: The READY indication comes into view. Then, the WAIT RESPONSE indication comes into view.
3.On the overhead panel, on the DLS: Push the SEL CTL key.	On the display of the DLS, the indication that follows comes into view: DLRB SELECTED. On the MDDU: The TRANSF IN PROG The BUS n: XXXXXXXXX indications come into view. NOTE: The n indication is the number of the bus in transfer. NOTE: The XXXXXXXX indication is the number of the bytes or the remaining bytes to be transferred. NOTE: If more than one disk is necessary to do the uploading of a same type of data, the EJECT DISK and INSERT NEXT DISK indications are shown one after the other. NOTE: Each software version has a specified number of disks. It is necessary to load all the disks until the loading process is completed.
4.Wait until the TRANSF COMPLETE indication comes into view on the display of the MDDU.
	On the overhead panel, on the display of the DLS, the indication that follows comes into view: The DB/N:ZZZZZZZZZZZ PUSH NEXT/PREV.
5.Make sure that the database software number given on the display of the DLS is the same as the database software number written on the media disk(s).
6.On center pedestal 11VU: Eject the media disk from the media disk drive of the MDDU. Close the floppy-disk access door.	On the MDDU: The < < MDDU READY > > indication comes into view.
7.On the overhead panel, on the DLS: Set the ON/OFF switch to OFF.	On the display of the DLS, the indication goes out of view.

A. Uploading of the LRU software with the PDL

NOTE: If the PDL has the digital signature check, it can send two messages:

One, if the PDL detects that the software is not signed. You can ignore this message, it has no effect on aircraft software uploading.
One, if the PDL detects an incorrect or corrupted signature. Then the software uploading will not be possible and you must use a different software.
For data security reasons, Airbus recommends to send a report of the fault to the Aircraft Security Focal Point.

1.On the overhead panel, on the DLS: Push the PREV or NEXT key until you get the "DLRB" indication.	On the display of the DLS, the indication that follows comes into view: DLRB NOT SELECTED.

3.On the PDL: Start the uploading of the DLRB software from the PDL (refer to the PDL user guide for more details).
4.Make sure that you uploaded the software from all the media.
5.On the overhead panel, on the DLS: Push the SEL CTL key.	On the display of the DLS, the indication that follows comes into view: DLRB NOT SELECTED.

6.Make sure that the database software number given on the display of the DLS is the same as the database software number written on the media disk(s).

C. Removal of the PDL
(1) On the overhead panel, on FMS LOAD panel 52VU:
(a) Disconnect the PDL cable from the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and from the DATA LOADER connector (2TD).
(b) Install the access cover and tighten the two middle quick-release fasteners.

Subtask 31-38-00-080-068-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

C. Removal of the PDL
(1) On center pedestal 11VU, on DATA LOADER panel 117VU:
(a) Disconnect the PDL cable from the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and from the DATA LOADER connector (2147VC).
(b) Install the access cover and tighten the two middle quick-release fasteners.

5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Put the media disk(s) back into the storage box in the cockpit.
