   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Energize the CFDS.

A. AIDS DMU Programming Procedure
   (1) Get access to the PROGRAMMING MENU:

On the MCDU:
On the MCDU display:

  • Push the MCDU MENU mode key.
  • The MCDU MENU page comes into view.
  • Push the Line Select Key (LSK) adjacent to the < AIDS indication.
  • The AIDS page comes into view.
  • Push the LSK adjacent to the < PROGRAMMING indication.
  • The PROGRAMMING page comes into view.
  • Enter the Password with the alphanumeric keys.


NOTE: The password is specified by the Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

  • Push the LSK adjacent to the < ENTER PASSWORD indication.
  • The PROGRAMMING MENUS indication becomes cyan.
  • The '<' mark is added to the < PROGRAMMING MENUS indication.
  • Push the LSK adjacent to the < PROGRAMMING MENUS indication.
  • The AIDS DMU PROGRAMMING page comes into view.

B. Programmable Report Inhibit
ACTION

On the MCDU:
On the MCDU display:
  • Push the line select key adjacent to < REPORT INHIBIT indication.
  • The AIDS REPORT INHIBIT page comes into view.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to * YES PRINT or PRINT NO * indication to set the print inhibit function.
  • If the print inhibit function is ON, the line shows * YES PRINT NO.
  • If the print inhibit function is OFF, the line shows YES PRINT NO *.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to * YES LINK or LINK NO * indication to set the ACARS downlink function.
  • If the ACARS downlink inhibit function is ON, the line shows * YES LINK NO.
  • If the ACARS downlink inhibit function is OFF, the line shows YES LINK NO *.
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the < RETURN indication to get back to the AIDS DMU PROGRAMMING page.
  • The AIDS DMU PROGRAMMING page comes into view.

C. Programmable Report Limits
ACTION
RESULT
On the MCDU:
On the MCDU display:
  • Push the line key adjacent to < REPORT LIMITS indication.
  • The AIDS REPORT LIMITS page comes into view.
  • Enter the Parameter Number of the Limit Table with the alphanumeric keys.
  • The Parameter Number shows on the bottom of the display (scratchpad).
  • Push the line key adjacent to PARAM NB <- XXXX indication to take over the Parameter Number.
  • On the AIDS REPORT LIMITS page adds following indication:
    OLD LIMIT, NEW LIMIT, VALIDITY, REASON, VALIDATE and RETURN TO DEFAULT.
  • Enter the new Limit value with the alphanumeric keys.
  • The new Limit value shows on the bottom of the display (scratchpad).
  • Push the line key adjacent to the arrow below the NEW LIMIT indication to take over the new Limit value.
  • The new Limit value shows under the NEW LIMIT indication.
  • Enter the Validity value with the alphanumeric keys in the format as follows:
    two digits + LEG: 'XXLEG'(e.g. 10LEG) or
    two digits + DAY: 'XXDAY'(e.g. 23DAY).
  • The new Validity value shows on the bottom of the display (scratchpad).
  • Push the line key adjacent to the arrow below the VALIDITY indication to take over the new Validity value.

  • Enter the Reason of the Report Limit Change with the alphanumeric keys.
  • The Reason shows on the bottom of the display (scratchpad).

NOTE: The REASON indication you can enter optional to inform the operator about the reason of the limit change.

  • Push the line key adjacent to * VALIDATE indication to save the new limit values.
  • The message VALIDATE OK shows.

On the center pedestal:
  • The printer makes a printout of the revised limit values.

NOTE: If you push the line key adjacent to RETURN TO DEFAULT * the default value is used (GSE).

On the MCDU:
On the MCDU display:

  • Push the line key adjacent to < RETURN indication.
  • The AIDS DMU PROGRAMMING page comes into view.

D. Programmable Report Counters

On the MCDU display:
  • Push the line key adjacent to < REPORT COUNTERS indication.
  • The AIDS REPORT COUNTERS page comes into view.
  • Push the line key adjacent to the related Report Number indication (e.g <REPORT (e.g. < REPORT 01).
  • The related REPORT X COUNTERS page comes into view.
  • Set the selected report counter value to its corresponding limit.

  • Push the line key adjacent to < RETURN indication.
  • The AIDS DMU PROGRAMMING MENU page comes into view.

E. Programmable Statistic Counters

NOTE: On the AIDS STATISTIC COUNTERS menu you can update the APU and Engine hours and cycles (AHRS, ACYC, EHRS1/2 and ECYC1/2).

   (1) To change the APU hours and cycles do the procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-740-004) 'Enter the APU hours and cycles data into the DMU'.
   (2) To change the engine hours and cycles do the procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-740-005) 'Enter the Engine hours and cycles data into the DMU'.
