A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
NOTE: This task is only applicable for data download through the PDL.
NOTE: For the download procedure a 1,44 MB formatted 3,5 inch disk is necessary. This disk must be prepared by the GSE Application Software. Refer to the software vendor documentation.
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002)
   (2) On the front panel of the FDIMU, open the flap to get access to the FDIMU front connector.
   (3) On the YV68A110 PORTABLE DATA LOADER make sure that the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position.
   (4) Connect the adapter cable to the FDIMU front connector.
   (5) Connect the adapter cable to the PDL interface.
   (6) Make sure that the DISK - DATA is not write-protected.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
NOTE: This task is only applicable for data download through the MDDU.
NOTE: For the download procedure a 1,44 MB formatted 3,5 inch disk is necessary. This disk must be prepared by the GSE Application Software (Ref. software vendor documentation).
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002)
   (2) Make sure that the disk is not write-protected.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position, at the access door 824, in zone 128.
   (2) Open access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).

A. Dump Procedure to Download the FDIMU Data through the PDL

NOTE: This task is only applicable for data download through the PDL.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the Portable Data Loader (PDL):
On the PDL display:
  • Set the ON/OFF switch to ON.
  • The MDDU READY indication shows.
  • Put the prepared disk into the PDL.
  • These indications show in a short time:
    READY,
    WAIT RESPONSE,
    TRANSF IN PROG.
  • Wait until the TRANSF COMPLETE indication comes on.
  • The TRANSF COMPLETE indication shows after a correct download.
  • Push the EJECT button and remove the disk.
  • The MDDU READY indication shows.
  • Set the ON/OFF switch to OFF.

B. Dump Procedure to Download the FDIMU Data through the MDDU

NOTE: This task is only applicable for data download through the MDDU.
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the overhead panel, on Data Loading Selector 101TD:
On the Data Loading Selector display:
  • Put the data loading selector ON/OFF switch to ON.
  • The DB/N:XXXXXXXX and PUSH NEXT/PREV indications show.
  • Push NEXT or PREV key until the ACMS NOT SELECTED indication shows on the display.
  • The ACMS NOT SELECTED indication shows.
  • Push the SEL CTL key.
  • The ACMS SELECTED indication shows.
2.On the Center Pedestal, on the MDDU:
On the MDDU display:
  • Open the floppy-disk access door.
  • The MDDU READY indication shows.
  • Put the prepared disk into the MDDU.
  • These indications show in a short time:
    READY,
    WAIT RESPONSE,
    TRANSF IN PROG.

NOTE: For some MDDU P/N the BUS-number and the file-sizes show between the messages TRANSF IN PROG and TRANSF COMPLETE. The file-sizes decrease to zero during the data loading. This shows the progress of the data loading.

  • Wait until the TRANSF COMPLETE indication comes on.
  • The TRANSF COMPLETE indication shows after a correct download.
  • Push the EJECT button and remove the disk.
  • The MDDU READY indication shows.
  • Close the floppy-disk access door.

3.On the Data Loading Selector:
On the Data Loading Selector display:
  • Push the SEL CTL key.
  • The AIDS NOT SELECTED indication shows.
  • Set the ON/OFF switch to OFF.

5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits

   (2) Disconnect the adapter cable from the FDIMU.
   (3) Disconnect the adapter cable from the PDL.
   (4) On the FDIMU close the flap.
