A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do a printout of the engine and APU hours and cycles (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-740-015).
NOTE: The software load can erase the data of the engine and APU hours and cycles in the FDIMU. The printout gives a hard copy of this data.
All modifications done before through MCDU programming menu can be lost after the software loading. Reports counters are also set to their initial condition.
   (3) Make sure that all the media disks are in writeprotected status (writeprotection ON).
NOTE: The number of the disks can change for different software version.

  • When the software has no signature (refer to the PDL user-guide), this message has no effect on the A/C software upload and you can ignore it
  • When the signature is incorrect or corrupted (refer to the PDL user-guide), the software upload is not possible and it is necessary to use other software.
As a data security precaution, Airbus recommends that the user does a report of the fault to his Aircraft Security Focal Point.
