B. Software Load Procedure
NOTE: For the operational software, the system file "SOFTWARE.CNF" must be on the root directory of the PCMCIA-CARD.
NOTE: For the customer database, the system file "DATABASE.CNF" must be on the root directory of the PCMCIA-CARD.
   (1) On DMU [1TV] , open the flap to the PCMCIA interface and make sure that both LEDs are off.
   (2) Install the PCMCIA-CARD with the related system file into the interface until the card is flush with the EXIT pushbutton (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-400-001):
  • The green LED flashes while the loading process is in progress.
NOTE: If the loading process is correct the green LED stays on. If the loading process is not correct the green LED goes off and the amber LED comes on.
   (3) Push the EXIT button to remove the PCMCIA-CARD sure that the green LED goes off.

B. Software Load Procedure
NOTE: To load the operational software the System Software file(s) must be on the root directory of the PCMCIA-CARD.
NOTE: To load the customer database the Database Software file(s) must be on the root directory of the PCMCIA-CARD.
NOTE: A software load starts only, if the software on the PCMCIA-CARD is different to the FDIMU pre-loaded software.
   (1) On FDIMU [10TV] , open the flap to the PCMCIA interface and make sure that both LEDs are off.
   (2) Install the PCMCIA-CARD with the related system file carefully into the interface until the card is flush with the EXIT pushbutton (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-400-001):
  • The green LED flashes while the loading process is in progress.
NOTE: If the loading process is correct the green LED stays on. If the loading process is not correct the green LED goes off and the amber LED comes on.
   (3) Push the EXIT button to remove the PCMCIA-CARD and make sure that the green LED goes off.
   (4) On the FDIMU close the flap to the PCMCIA interface.

B. Software Load Procedure
NOTE: For a correct load of the operational software, the System Software file(s) must be on the root directory of the PCMCIA-CARD.
NOTE: The software load starts only if the software on the PCMCIA-CARD is different from the software preloaded on the FDIMU.
   (1) On the FDIMU, open the front door to get access to the PCMCIA Interface (PCI).
   (2) Install the PCMCIA-CARD with the related system file carefully into the PCI until the PCMCIA-CARD is flush with the EXIT button (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-400-001).
NOTE: The bottom LED flashes green during the loading process of the software.
NOTE: If the loading process is correct, the bottom LED will stay green for approximately 2 seconds and then goes off. If the loading process is not correct, the bottom LED will stay red for approximately 2 seconds and then goes off.
The BITE status LEDs (upper and middle) can stay on during the loading process of the software. This does not indicate a failure.
NOTE: If you are installing FDIMU software 10TVSW8 and 10TVSW9 be advised these are small installation files and quickly load on the system. Once the loading is finished, the FDIMU starts preparing the card for data recording (within 2 seconds). In this case, the FDIMU bottom light turns red. If the above steps has been observed and the software PNs are correct in MCDU, the software has been correctly loaded and the card can be removed.
   (3) Push the EXIT button to remove the PCMCIA-CARD and make sure that the green LED goes off.
   (4) After a successful Software Load, remove the PCMCIA-CARD from the PCI.
   (5) On the FDIMU, close the front door.

   (4) Push the EXIT button to remove the PCMCIA-CARD and make sure that the green LED goes off.
   (5) After a successful Software Load, remove the PCMCIA-CARD from the PCMCIA interface.
   (6) Install the SMART PCMCIA CARD, if removed (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-400-805).
