A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) In the cockpit, put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not operate the flight controls.

B. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 312.
(2) Open access door 312AR.
(3) Set light switch 3LJ to the "ON" position.

D. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the DFDR (Ref. AMM TASK 31-33-55-000-001).
(2) For the location of this component, refer to paragraph Component Location
(Ref. AMM D/O 31-33-00-00).

4. Procedure
Subtask 31-33-55-020-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the DFDR Tray/Rack
(1) Remove the nuts (5) and (7), the washers (4) and (6) and the screws (2) and (3).
(2) Remove the nuts (11), the washers (10) and the screws (8) from the electrical connector (9).

NOTE: There are two types of electrical connectors (9):

The electrical connector (9) that is connected with four screws (8).
The electrical connector (9) that is connected with eight screws (8).

(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (9):

WARNING: WHEN YOU DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR, ALWAYS PUT ON PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND GOGGLES TO PREVENT INJURY.

(a) Carefully pull out the electrical connector (9) from the DFDR tray/rack (1).
(4) Remove the DFDR tray/rack (1) from the aircraft structure.

A. Removal of the DFDR Tray/Rack
(1) Remove the nuts (4) and (5), the washers (3) and (6) and the screws (2) and (7).
(2) Remove the nuts (11), the washers (10) and the screws (8) from the electrical connector (9).

The electrical connector (9) that is connected with eight screws (8).

(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (9):

(a) Carefully pull out the electrical connector (9) from the DFDR tray/rack (1).
(4) Remove the DFDR tray/rack (1) from the aircraft structure.
