A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft is in the Ground configuration (the landing gear is compressed and all engines are stopped).

B. Get access to the avionics compartment.
(1) Open access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
(2) For the location of this component, refer to paragraph Component Location

E. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration for the FDIMU DFDRS Software Load through the PDL
(1) On the front panel of the FDIMU, open the flap to get access to the OPERATIONAL/STORAGE switch.
(2) Make sure that the OPERATIONAL ON/OFF switch is in the ON position.
(4) Connect the adapter cable to the FDIMU front connector.
(5) Connect the adapter cable to the YV68A100 PORTABLE DATA LOADER interface.
(6) Make sure that disk [10TV1] is not in the non write-protected status (write-protection is OFF).
Subtask 31-33-00-860-062-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the front panel of the FDIMU, open the flap to get access to the OPERATIONAL/STORAGE switch.
(2) Make sure that the OPERATIONAL ON/OFF switch is in the ON position.
NOTE: This enables the battery backup buffering of all internal AIDS data stored in the volatile memory in case of external power shut-down.
(3) On the PDL, make sure that the ON/OFF switch is in OFF position. (4) Connect the adapter cable to the FDIMU front connector.
(5) Connect the adapter cable to the YV68A100 PORTABLE DATA LOADER interface.
(6) Make sure that disk [10TV1] is not in the non write-protected status (write-protection is OFF).
NOTE: Depending on the software version, there can be more than one software disks.
E. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration for the FDIMU DFDRS Software Load through the Portable Data Loader (PDL)
(1) On the front panel of the FDIMU, open the flap to get access to the OPERATIONAL/STORAGE switch.
(2) Make sure that the OPERATIONAL ON/OFF switch is in the ON position.
(4) Connect the Adapter Cable to the FDIMU front connector.
(5) Connect the Adapter Cable to the YV68A110 PORTABLE DATA LOADER interface.
(6) Make sure that all [10TV1] non-writeprotected status (writeprotection OFF).
Subtask 31-33-00-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the front panel of the FDIMU, open the flap to get access to the OPERATIONAL/STORAGE switch.
(2) Make sure that the OPERATIONAL ON/OFF switch is in the ON position.

(6) Make sure that all [10TV1] non-writeprotected status (writeprotection OFF).

(1) Disconnect the adapter cable from the FDIMU.
(2) Disconnect the adapter cable from the PDL.
(3) Close the door on the front of the FDIMU.

(2) Close access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
(3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
