A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do a print out of the APU hours and cycles (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-740-006).
   (3) Do a print out of the Engine hours and cycles (Ref. AMM TASK 31-36-00-740-007).
NOTE: Modification of the aircraft coding can erase the data of the engine and APU hours and cycles in the FDIMU. The print out gives a hard copy of this data. Use the print out as a reference to correct the engine and APU hours and cycles later, if necessary.

CAUTION: IF YOU CHANGE THE AIRCRAFT IDENTIFICATION, MAKE SURE THAT THE CONFIGURATION OF PINS PP, NN, MM, FF, GG, JJ, HH, KK AND LL IS THE SAME BEFORE AND AFTER THE AIRCRAFT IDENT MODIFICATION. IF THE PIN CONFIGURATION IS INCORRECT, THERE IS A RISK THAT PARAMETERS WILL BE INCORRECTLY RECORDED OR NOT RECORDED.
A. Procedure to Use the Aircraft Coding Plug
NOTE: The procedure that follows gives an example only of how to use aircraft coding plug 197VC-A.
   (1) Remove all the pins from coding plug 197VC-A.
   (2) Connect the A/C Tail Number (Example: AD-ABCD):
  • If the A/C tail number has six digits only (Example: D-ABCD) use a dot for the first digit and connect the pins for CH1# as follows: PP/AA/<Y/<X/<W - (.)
  • If the A/C tail number has seven digits (Example: AD-ABCD) connect the pins for CH1# as follows: PP/<V - (A)
  • Connect the pins for CH2# as follows: PP/<R - (D)
  • Connect the pins for CH3# as follows: PP/<N/<K/<J/<H - (-)
  • Connect the pins for CH4# as follows: PP/<B - (A)
  • Connect the pins for CH5# as follows: PP/W - (B)
  • Connect the pins for CH6# as follows: PP/P/N - (C)
  • Connect the pins for CH7# as follows: PP/J - (D).
   (3) Re-install all the other pins (PP, NN, MM, FF, GG, JJ, HH, KK and LL) on 197VC-A ASM 313403.
   (4) Do the quality check of the connections ESPM 205211, ESPM 205212.
   (5) Do a continuity check of the connections ESPM 205221, ESPM 205222, for applicable connections refer to the paragraph (2) and ASM 313403.
