A. Readout Procedure of the Digital Flight Data Recorder
(1) If you use a universal readout tool, make sure that the interfaces agree.
(3) Push the GND CTL pushbutton (the blue ON indicator in the pushbutton comes on) to energize the DFDR and start the download.
(5) Disconnect the cable of the readout tool from the Ground-Support Equipment Connector (2) and install the cover plate (1).
Subtask 31-33-00-710-124-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If you use a universal readout tool, make sure that the interfaces agree.
NOTE: Airbus recommends that you use the readout tool and the recorder from the same supplier. Refer to IPC (Ref.31335501) to get the supplier name, the vendor code and the CMM of the DFDR. For the readout procedure, it is necessary to obey the instructions given in the applicable CMM.
NOTE: If the DFDR data is downloaded to perform an inspection of the data, it is recommended to make a printout of the latest Post Flight Report (PFR) and print the Class 3 report for the DFDRS.
(2) Remove the cover plate (1) from the Ground-Support Equipment Connector (2) and connect the cable of the readout tool with the Ground-Support Equipment Connector (2). (3) Push the GND CTL pushbutton (the blue ON indicator in the pushbutton comes on) to energize the DFDR and start the download.
NOTE: For the data conversion use the Flight Data Recording Parameter Library (FDRPL). The FDRPL supplies the necessary data to program a database to change the raw data of the readout into readable data in engineering units.
NOTE: During the readout procedure, the Solid State Flight Data Recorder (SSFDR) is not available. The message "RECORDER DFDR FAULT" can came into view on the ECAM display. This status is correct and it will go out of view after you complete the readout procedure of the DFDR.
(4) Push the GND CTL pushbutton (the blue ON indicator in the pushbutton goes off) to de-energize the DFDR when the download is completed. (5) Disconnect the cable of the readout tool from the Ground-Support Equipment Connector (2) and install the cover plate (1).
B. Readout Procedure of the Digital Flight Data Recorder with the HandHeld Multi-Purpose Interface (HHMPI) Tool
(1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Turn the label (1) to get access to the Ground-Support Equipment Connector (2).
(3) Connect FDS40-0310 HHMPI CVR/FDR READOUT (4) to the Ground-Support Equipment Connector (2) with the interface cable (3).
(a) Ignore the recorder DFDR fault message on the ECAM display unit.
(4) Download the DFDR data to the FDS40-0310 HHMPI CVR/FDR READOUT (4) that follows:
(5) Disconnect the FDS40-0310 HHMPI CVR/FDR READOUT (4) from the interface cable (3).
(6) Disconnect the interface cable (3) from the Ground-Support Equipment Connector (2).
(7) Turn the label (1) to its initial position.
