A. Reset of the Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) to Change the CFDIU Configuration from the Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) to the Instrument Landing System (ILS) Configuration
Subtask 31-32-34-420-050-A NOTE: This procedure is only necessary if you move the Centralized Fault Display Interface Unit (CFDIU) from an aircraft with the MMR installed to an aircraft with the ILS installed.
NOTE: If you do not do this procedure, access to the ILS BITE will not be possible.
(1) Before you install the CFDIU on the aircraft, do the testing and fault isolation procedure in the work shop to do the reset the EEPROM. B. Installation of the CFDIU
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors (2).
(4) Make sure that the electrical connectors (2) are in the correct condition.
(5) Install the CFDIU (1) on its rack (3).
(6) Push the CFDIU (1) on its rack (3) to connect the electrical connectors (2).
(7) Engage the nuts (4) on the lugs (5) and tighten.

D. Do the procedure to get the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST NAV page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-010).
If the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/NAV page shows ILS1 and ILS2 indications but not MMR1 and MMR2 indications, you must do the steps that follow:
Subtask 31-32-34-740-050-A If the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/NAV page shows ILS1 and ILS2 indications but not MMR1 and MMR2 indications, you must do the steps that follow:
- Make sure that the engines are shut down
- Open CFDIU SUPPLY circuit breaker 2TW
- Open CFDIU BACK UP circuit breaker 8TW
- Make sure that MMR1 and MMR2 circuit breakers, 42RT1 and 42RT2, are closed
- After 30 seconds, close CFDIU circuit breakers 2TW and 8TW
- After 180 seconds, get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/NAV page (the MMR indications are shown).
NOTE: After a power-up of the CFDS:
- The CFDS prompt is shown in the MCDU MENU page after approximately 60 seconds.
- The full CFDS functionality is available after approximately 3 minutes, to make computation of the aircraft configuration possible.
E. Do the BITE test of the Centralized Fault Display Interface Unit (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-740-002).
Subtask 31-32-34-970-050-A NOTE: If the clock is defective, you can re-initialize the time and date on the MCDU (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-750-001).
F. If available, you can load the maintenance filter data base of the CFDIU (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-600-001).
5. Close-upSubtask 31-32-34-410-050-A
