A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE is in position to tell persons not to fill or flush the potable water system.

4. Procedure
Subtask 30-72-52-140-050-A
A. Preparation for installation
   (1) Remove the used sealant with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
   (2) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

B. Installation of the FILL/DRAIN NIPPLE (11DV) and/or OVERFLOW NIPPLE (13DV)
NOTE: The operational temperature of the heater nipples:
- the heater will come on at 6.0 +1 -1 deg. C (42.80 +1.80 -1.80 deg. F)
- and switch off at 13.0 +1 -1 deg. C (55.40 +1.80 -1.80 deg. F).
- The overheat protection tempoerature (micro fuse) for the heater nipples:
- will switch off at 110.0 deg. C (230.0 deg. F)
   (1) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the screws (8).
   (2) Put the fill/drain nipple (9) and/or overflow nipple (10) and the related insulation plate (5), (11) in position.
   (3) Install the fill/drain nipple (9) and/or the overflow nipple (10) with the screws (8), the washers (3) and the nuts (2).
NOTE: The screws (6) and the related washers and nuts are installed during the installation procedure of the thermostat (4).
   (4) Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
   (5) Install the potable water pipe (1) to the fill/drain nipple (9) and/or overflow nipple (10).
   (6) Connect the electrical contacts with the ELEC CONTACTS INSERTION EXTRACTION TOOL M15570-20.
   (7) Attach the electrical harness with the TIE WRAP(S).
   (8) Install the thermostat 12DV and/or 14DV (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-72-11-400-001).

C. Application of Sealant
   (1) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) around the fill/drain nipple (9) and/or overflow nipple (10).
   (2) Make the sealant around the fill/drain nipple (9) and/or overflow nipple (10) smooth.
   (3) Let the sealant cure.
   (4) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the fill/drain nipple (9) and/or overflow nipple (10).

D. Installation of the FILL/DRAIN NIPPLE (11DV)
NOTE: The operational temperature of the heater nipples:

E. Application of Sealant

   (3) Let the sealant cure.
   (4) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the fill/drain nipple (9).

  • Examine that the fill/drain nipple 11DV (overflow nipple 13DV) becomes warm.

   (1) Do this test.

D. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the partition 161DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
   (3) Set the CARGO COMP LT switch 8LU to OFF.
   (4) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (5) Close the potable water service-panel 171AL.
   (6) Remove the access platform.

E. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
