A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at waste-water service panel 172AR.
(3) Make sure that waste-water service panel 172AR is open and the drain-control handle is set to the NORM position.
(4) Make sure that the bulk cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
(5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position at the bulk cargo-compartment door.
(6) Make sure that cargo-compartment light switch 18LU is set to the ON position.
(7) Make sure that partition 162DW is open to get access to the thermostat and terminal block 7585VT (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at waste-water service panel 172AR.
(3) Make sure that waste-water service panel 172AR is open and the drain-control handle is set to the NORM position.
(4) Make sure that the bulk cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
(5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position at the bulk cargo-compartment door.
(6) Make sure that cargo-compartment light switch 18LU is set to the ON position.
(7) Make sure that partition 162DW is open to get access to the thermostat and terminal block 7585VT (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Installation of the Thermostat
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the surface of the locating stud (6) is clean before you apply the adhesive.
(4) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Low strength Low viscosity - (Material No.05BAB1) on the locating stud (6).
(5) Put the thermostat housing (5) onto the locating stud (6).
(6) Put the washer (8) and the threaded sleeve (9) in position.
(7) TORQUE the threaded sleeve (9) to between 0.06 and 0.04 m.daN (5.31 and 3.54 lbf.in )
.
(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(11) Install the TIE WRAP(S) on the electrical connections (4).

(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the surface of the locating stud (6) is clean before you apply the adhesive.

(5) Put the thermostat housing (5) onto the locating stud (6).
(6) Put the washer (8) and the threaded sleeve (9) in position.
(7) TORQUE the threaded sleeve (9) to between 0.06 and 0.04 m.daN (5.31 and 3.54 lbf.in )
. NOTE: A threaded overlap is not necessary.
(8) Install the thermostat housing cover (3) with the screws (7), the washers (2) and the nuts (1). (9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES.
INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(10) With the ELEC CONTACTS INSERTION EXTRACTION TOOL M15570-20, connect the electrical connections (4) to terminal block 7585VT. (11) Install the TIE WRAP(S) on the electrical connections (4).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install partition 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(3) Set cargo-compartment light switch 18LU to OFF position.
(4) Close the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-008).
(5) Make sure that the drain control handle is in the NORM position.
(6) Close waste-water service panel 172AR.
(7) Remove the access platform(s).
