C. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at waste-water service panel 172AR.
(2) Open waste-water service panel 172AR and make sure that the drain-control handle is in the NORM position.
(3) Open the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
(4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position at the bulk cargo-compartment door.
(5) Set cargo-compartment light switch 18LU to the ON position.
(6) Remove partition 162DW to get access to the thermostat and terminal block 7585VT (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at waste-water service panel 172AR.
(2) Open waste-water service panel 172AR and make sure that the drain-control handle is in the NORM position.
(3) Open the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
(4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position at the bulk cargo-compartment door.
(5) Set cargo-compartment light switch 18LU to the ON position.
(6) Remove partition 162DW to get access to the thermostat and terminal block 7585VT (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
Subtask 30-72-11-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Thermostat
(1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
(2) Remove and discard the TIE WRAP(S) from the electrical wires.
(4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Remove the nuts (1), the washers (2), and the screws (7).
(6) Lift the thermostat housing cover (3).
(7) Loosen the threaded sleeve (9) with a screwdriver.
(8) Remove the threaded sleeve (9) and the washer (8).
(9) Remove the thermostat housing (5) from the locating stud (6).
(1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
(2) Remove and discard the TIE WRAP(S) from the electrical wires.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) With the ELEC CONTACTS INSERTION EXTRACTION TOOL M15570-20, disconnect the electrical connections (4) from terminal block 7585VT. (4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Remove the nuts (1), the washers (2), and the screws (7).
(6) Lift the thermostat housing cover (3).
(7) Loosen the threaded sleeve (9) with a screwdriver.
(8) Remove the threaded sleeve (9) and the washer (8).
(9) Remove the thermostat housing (5) from the locating stud (6).
