A. Installation of a Heater Element (Example)
(2) Install the heater element (8) in a ring shape, around the tank connecting tube.
(3) Do not bend the heater element (8) in Y-axis.
(5) Make sure that the heater element (8) is correctly installed on the tank connecting tube.
(7) Use a HOT AIR BLOWER MAX OPERATING 370 DEG C (700 DEG F) and make the sleeve smaller.
(8) Install the velcro tape (2) around the SLEEVE - SHRINKING (6) to make a good bond for the insulation blanket(s) (1).
(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(11) Install the insulation blanket(s) (1) and safety it (them) with an Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) (3).
(12) Make sure that the electrical connections (5) are away from the insulation blanket(s) (1).
(13) Attach the identification and warning labels and the electrical wires of the heater element (8) with the TIE WRAP(S) (4).
Subtask 30-71-58-865-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The installation procedure is the same for all the heater elements.
NOTE: The temperature range of the heater element is as follows:
- The heater element will come on at 6 -1 DEG.C or +1 DEG.C (42.8 -.8 DEG.F or +.8 DEG.F).
- The heater element will go off at approximately 10 -1 DEG.C or +1 DEG.C (50 -1.8 DEG.F or +1.8 DEG.F).
(1) Install the tank connecting tube (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-74-400-001). - The heater element will come on at 6 -1 DEG.C or +1 DEG.C (42.8 -.8 DEG.F or +.8 DEG.F).
- The heater element will go off at approximately 10 -1 DEG.C or +1 DEG.C (50 -1.8 DEG.F or +1.8 DEG.F).
(2) Install the heater element (8) in a ring shape, around the tank connecting tube.
(3) Do not bend the heater element (8) in Y-axis.
NOTE: The minimum bend radius in the X-axis is 25 MM (0.98 IN.).
(4) Install an Adhesive Tape-- Glass Cloth - (Material No.05TAB1) (7) in a ring shape in the opposite direction to attach the heater element (8) on the tank connecting tube. (5) Make sure that the heater element (8) is correctly installed on the tank connecting tube.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE SHRINKABLE SLEEVE.
IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBE.
