   (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
   (3) Set cargo-compartment light switch 18LU to the ON position.
   (4) Remove partition panel 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 30-71-58-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: YOU MUST ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO THIS PROCEDURE.
A. Removal of a Heater Element (Example)
NOTE: The removal procedure is the same for all the heater elements.
   (1) Remove and discard the TIE WRAP(S) (4) from the identification and warning labels.
   (2) Remove and discard the TIE WRAP(S) (4) from the electrical wires of the heater element (8).
   (3) Remove the insulation blanket(s) (1) from the heater element (8).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (4) Disconnect the electrical connections (5) with an ELEC CONTACTS INSERTION EXTRACTION TOOL M15570-20.
   (5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (6) Remove the tank connecting tube (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-74-000-001).
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE SHRINKABLE SLEEVE. IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBE.
   (7) Remove and discard the SLEEVE - SHRINKING (6) from the heater element (8).
   (8) Remove and discard the Adhesive Tape-- Glass Cloth - (Material No.05TAB1) (7) from the heater element (8).
   (9) Remove the heater element (8).
